Would be easier to upload photos to a post, like on FB for example. personally i struggle a lot to figure out the img src code.
is there a way to do this?
Easiest way: get a photo sharing app or site. Like Photobucket. There is an app. Then once you have saved the photo, you can go into the app and quickly get the html code of each photo and copy it and paste it into your post. On an ipad that is the fastest way. Html coding on a tablet is too much work.
I hate that FR has not been tech updated in so many years.

Even if you could directly upload to FR (a capability that prolly won’t happen), you’d still have to know a little HTML to get the image posted.
The img tag is one of the simplest and not hard to learn. The HTML Sandbox by ShadowAce can help you a lot. Check it out:

with the parentheses replaced by triangular brackets, gives the picture:
It would take lot of money to do what you want, and it could change the nature of FR. As much as I like the occasional Viking Kitty pic, I don't want all FR's bandwidth going to cute kittens and cat videos.
See the post immediately below yours for a cogent explanation. As it is now, quarterly fundraising appeals are taking nearly the entire quarter just to keep operations at their current antiquated level. If your "hate" is indeed sufficiently motivating, please consider arranging and providing the funding for proper updating.
Most sites you can just upload from your desktop - so much easier. Images add a lot to the discussion.
uncalled for attack on Yaelle IMO.
Frankly, I am EXTREMELY happy with the “antiquated” format. Loads fast, no gratuitous visual content, and ports very well to mobile, no matter how “bare bones” the phone. I think FR’s layout is a classic, much like Drudge’s “antiquated” look.
Tape the picture to your monitor and press enter.

I have been a heavy supporter, but my support has lessened (I still support quite fairly) over the last two years BECAUSE I CANT EASILY FREEP ON MY DEVICES. I love this place. I love Jim. I love a lot of people here.
But because I can’t have easy access to the site on my devices, I take that to mean that FR doesn’t want as much of my money. If they did, they’d have a functional way to freep on an iPhone, for example.
No.
There have been times that JohnRob ‘updated’ the format and it didn’t work.
I recall one time when the main site was used for beta testing, my browser content became so tiny I could hardly read anything.

The concensus from some previous attempts at ‘modernizing’ were: DON’T.
The site works like it works. Leave it alone.
How does it port very well to an iphone? I’ve tried three browsers and can’t read in large enough font for my READING GLASSES where I don’t have to scroll sideways to read one line of text.
I disagree. One of the things that has kept me here so long is that I like the way this forum works. FR often gets criticized for its "90s-era" coding, but I see it as lean and fast.
I participate in several other forums and they're all cluttered. You can't see if someone replied to you unless you go back and read through the whole thread.
Go lurk on DU. That place is a mess.
I've long since mastered image posting. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Though I will concede, FR is kind of a hassle from an iPhone or tablet.
“Frankly, I am EXTREMELY happy with the antiquated format.”
Keeps the unimaginative posters from junking up the website.
