Easiest way: get a photo sharing app or site. Like Photobucket. There is an app. Then once you have saved the photo, you can go into the app and quickly get the html code of each photo and copy it and paste it into your post. On an ipad that is the fastest way. Html coding on a tablet is too much work.
I hate that FR has not been tech updated in so many years.
See the post immediately below yours for a cogent explanation. As it is now, quarterly fundraising appeals are taking nearly the entire quarter just to keep operations at their current antiquated level. If your "hate" is indeed sufficiently motivating, please consider arranging and providing the funding for proper updating.
Most sites you can just upload from your desktop - so much easier. Images add a lot to the discussion.
No.
There have been times that JohnRob ‘updated’ the format and it didn’t work.
I recall one time when the main site was used for beta testing, my browser content became so tiny I could hardly read anything.

The concensus from some previous attempts at ‘modernizing’ were: DON’T.
The site works like it works. Leave it alone.
I disagree. One of the things that has kept me here so long is that I like the way this forum works. FR often gets criticized for its "90s-era" coding, but I see it as lean and fast.
I participate in several other forums and they're all cluttered. You can't see if someone replied to you unless you go back and read through the whole thread.
Go lurk on DU. That place is a mess.
I've long since mastered image posting. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Though I will concede, FR is kind of a hassle from an iPhone or tablet.
I’ve always thought they didn’t update it to discourage people from posting too many photos.

On the flip side, I have multiple tabs on my home page(s). Invariably, FR loads the fastest by far. I like that.
Neat, fast, simple, uncluttered, effective. My kind of website - my kind of anything.
Does the app (like Photobucket) automatically generate the complete html code (including the <, img src, “”, =)? Thanks.
