This is a discussion forum, for those that want to directly upload all manner of pictures get a Facebook account.

If you want to see what would happen to FR, look at all the crap on Facebook. I use it to keep up with pics of family members and kids. But 80% of my "friends" post jokes, videos, and inspirational/religious/political content....continuously. None of which is of interest to me. I would not like to see FR morph into that.

FR allows just enough to make posts interesting. It's not too minimalist (e.g., Hacker News — example — it's so bad you need an extension just to make it readable). And it's not full of animated smilies (which are supported by the gimped UI of common forum software).
