A Colorado Springs man was arrested Tuesday on a felony warrant after police drew him out of his apartment southeast of Airport Road and South Academy Boulevard.
Nicholas Rogers, 34, was wanted on a felony menacing warrant. Police looked for him at his apartment in a complex in the 700 block of Chapman Drive. No one answered the apartment door, but police found an extension cord running from his residence to an outlet in the laundry room, an illegal utilities connection. Police disconnected the cord and hid in the laundry room to wait.
After about half an hour, Rogers left his apartment and went to the laundry room. He was arrested on the felony warrant and also charged with tampering with a utilities meter.
I’ll bet they could not believe how easy that was. Maybe the criminals’ facebooking hobby was interrupted when all the lights went out.
Really? Plugging into another outlet is tampering with utilities meter? Some creative charging there...

Yes, it’s a valid charge. Although it really should be called “Utility Services Tampering” in Colorado. But I wouldn’t expect the moonbat liberals in Denver to know pass any law with the correct verbiage.
You know that should read, Unplugging Illegal Undocumented Utilities Connection. < / political correctness>
Good one!!!!
How about undocumented parking? Or undocumented U-turn? Man, I’m going to use that the next time I get into trouble. Thanks for the tip.
only in libtard america is it a crime to unplug illegals’ utility meters. /sarc
Water falls out of the sky, electricity same thing in lightning bolts.
So water and ‘tricity should be free! Fo’ shiznit, Utility Man, keepin’ us down!
Dayum ...
word
I’m surprised they didn’t shoot his dog.
Maybe he is from Detroit, and he thought electricity should be free like people in Detroit believe water should be free.
Ending prohibition is a wonderful thing!
Sounds dangerous, wonder why they didn’t just set the place on fire, and shoot as he ran out?
They got him out without flash-bang grenades, armored vehicles, dead suspects, or shooting dogs - credit where credit's due.
A proper and well executed use of power.
Well played gentlemen, well played.
Power to da peeple!
I’ll file this under ‘police being clever and patient instead of brutal and thuggish.’
As a person critical of police wrongdoing, I agree. Colorado Springs police are above average in professionalism for the most part. Especially compared to Denver PD or Adams County SD.
Sheriff Andy Taylor approved.
