At the time, it was the second longest thread on FR.
The longest was Arthur McGowan's "Please Don't Ping Me." It had 1100 replies.

An acquaintance turned me on to FR and I was a lurker for many tears before I signed up. He told me that he is on his 4th screen name (since 1999). He admits to behaving badly at times and has had to start over. I guess he cleaned up his act because he hasn't been banned since 2008. Anyway, happy birthday!

The older threads were lost when the first server changeover occurred. they can sometimes be found on The Wayback Machine.
Quick story. I found FR because of Ann Coulter. Met her several years later. She was being interviewed on TV while I was on my PC. She mentioned FR and I immediately found the site.
I instantly signed up. I couldn't think of a screen name. I glanced at my bookcase and who do you think I saw? I than promptly misspelled it.
