Lots of conservative musicians, not much in the way of “conservative” music.

I’ll be honest with you, I don’t necessarily look for political viewpoints incorporated into music. As far as rock and roll, I’m not sure overtly conservative viewpoints would mesh well with the genre.

Music is music. While I can appreciate that you wish to support conservative musicians . . . .

If you IGNORE the person singing, I can name several from unlikely sources:

I’ll just mention Beatles’ Taxman, ‘cause it’s so obvious.

Kinks
Muswell Hillbilly
21st Century Man

Elton John (none of the three may qualify as straight rock and roll)
My Father’s Gun
Dixie Lilly
Georgia

David Bowie
Cygnet Committee

Think
Once You Understand
(just kidding on that one, but I include it because it unintentionally lampoons the lefty position on almsot everything)

I’ve been a musician for 37 years and have yet to figure out which notes/chords/melodies are liberal and which are conservative.

Rush trends pretty libertarian.

Not sure if I'd call them typically conservative, but the Brando's lead singer, David Kincaid, is an active Civil War reenactor. It's hard to find lyrics much more conservative/reactionary than, "I am the keeper of the old ways..."

The Kinks. Who else has used “conservatively” in a song lyric?

Why are there so few?

Conservative values tend toward personal responsibility, hard work, patriotism, loyalty self sacrifice...basically adult behavior. Rock music's message (when there is one)is basically rebellion against all of these (while Country music embraces them). Politically it's liberal vs. conservative philosophies.

However, Rock has been around since the 1950s. A newer generation may rebel against status quo liberal philosophy and see that reflected in their new Rock.

Just generalizations. Do not believe popular music has the impact it did a generation ago. And there is so much great Rock from so many years that one should just enjoy listening to what he likes.

In 2006, National Review compiled what was called the Fifty Greatest Conservative Rock Songs...

a pretty good list, even if some of the singers were libs.
