Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

I never had to worry about Hockeybughow, because he loved taking a bath. I had to almost demand that he get out of the tub, or he would stay in there an hour. He’s still a clean freak!
I’m about done waiting on maintenance. My right ankle is bothering me and I just plain want to get parallel to the deck. They can let themselves in and lock the door when they leave and I can put a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the bedroom door! LOL!
Oh yes...I finished the little bookcase. There was just enough room for the Harry Potter books and “The Green Mile.”

Thanks N-T-I. We are still making arrangements.
On a happier note, the puppies have doubled in size since they were born, a week ago tomorrow.

"Escapism. No wonder you write books." Heinlein felt the same way. It's easier than working.

"Sleeping is easier than working, too." Only a fortunate few of us can dream up interesting stories as we sleep.

Thanks Bob for the ping. You storyteller, you. I've read you ... LOL. Better Half still hasn't found the time though. Too much time in other books. Would it be okay if I print your words via printer so see doesn't have to spend time at the cpu? She is not much for spending time reading on the cpu would be the only reason I would like to print out your writings. I would destroy them once she has read your words via shredder. Am still interested in receiving one of your books though.

Your cautions are acceptable to me.
I have not, entirely, forgotten about the books. I still hope to satisfy you in that regard.
And I do have other things in the works. We shall see what comes of it.

Gosh ... I know the kittahs are stronger than strong but it would be great if all the kittahs had one of those.

What we really need are machines like that which do for brown fields what those machines do for green fields.
Too many abandoned lots in abandoned cities need to be refurbished, rebuilt, and re-used. Instead we move farther away from the ostensible employment base to areas free of litigation risk.
That doesn’t solve our problems, it just leaves a nuked wasteland in our rear-view mirrors.
I think whole cities and towns need to be rebuilt, and I would do it the way we put together our space Habitats.
