Musk ox invasion keeps Nome wildlife managers busy

Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.

Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Though I don’t really feel like it, I went out to straighten up the stack of books, and jarred the top tub on the stack next to them. I KNEW it had water on the lid because it rained hard last night, but I still dumped the dirty water all over me and my clean clothes.

*sigh*

There must be a better way to do things. Maybe I should stay in and concentrate on the coat closet...?

It’s still warm and muggy, and promises to be this way for the next few days. My brain feels rusty, and like the gears just don’t want to mesh.

In reference to Andra the dogbeast, yes. Good dog. Went for walks in the woods with her cat. Or maybe the cat (Michael) was going for a walk in the woods with his dog. Whatever. Both are now in petheaven.

Welp. Today is the day Mr. Bill goes to get his tank lowered. Here’s hoping nothing more goes amiss with it in the next year.

I’ve already put away the laundry that I had hung to dry on Sunday (moisture in the air sucks) and will bring in the Christmas tubs. Yesterday, I gathered up the bags and things that were taking up space in there, so I can bring in some of the mess, and move the book crates out of the weather.

The patio is round and the roof over it is square, so there is only so much shelter to be had. There were so many things that had to be stacked, and of course, along the fence was the only place. At least I can see the end of it all.

Can you ask DP something for me? I need to know if VHS tapes can be recorded onto DVDs without going through a TV set. It seems they should be able to, but I need to know what to look for in the destruction book. No hurry...
