I’m so glad you were able to get some useful information and recipes from my post about making your own Siriacha Sauce. Jaden Hair at Steamykitchen.com has a very interesting and informative site.

Aww sorry. Being “mosquito bait”, I HATE those little monsters. It’s weird but wonderful. Maybe an IGR (like Archer) would help if it’s not raining too much. We use it for fleas in San Antonio & it made a noticeable difference.

I bought a spray bottle of Avon Skin So Soft, but haven’t been outside to try it. I know it worked great in a skeeter infested swamp in lower Alabama one time when I was there.

I had my second shot of B12 yesterday. My wife gave it to me and she did an excellent job! I did not realize she had stabbed my arm. She has been giving herself allergy shots for years. I asked her if she would give me the shot because the visit to the VA Clinic for the first shot, last month, took two hours.

I have read that it can take up to three injections to start noticing if the B12 is doing anything.

I’ve heard the same about B-12. I hope it helps you out.

I forget whether you have actually used BTK injections on squash, or have just read about it..Anyway, I got some BTK, and a syringe to inject it into my Tromboncino Squash... I have read to dilute it per bottle directions, then inject it about an inch above the frass.

If you have used this method of SVB contol, suggestions, tips, tricks are weclomed.

I am in the middle of defrosting my 34 year old 21 Cubic Foot Upright Deep Freeze...no fun. I see Sears/Kenmore has a 21 Cubic Foot (made by Fridgidaire)FROSTLESS Upright model on sale for $589.00, regularly, $909.00.

My old manual defrost upright deep freezer was manufactured by Cold Spot. I know it’s a work horse, and I fear with a newer one..they just don’t make them like they used to make them, and it will croak after five years.

Asking for opinions/advice. WWFRD? The sale ends July 5th, so I need to make up my mind..I just keep going back and forth.

They don’t “make them like they used to” is my experience as well. However, that does seem like a good price, and defrosting a freezer is very hard work. It looks nice, if this is it:

Or is it this one? Neither is exactly the regular price of $909.:

It’s this one. I didn’t read the reviews, but it has 4 stars.

A few of the reviews mentioned that this freezer is noisy. Would that be a problem for you?

I have a Frigidaire (refrigerator only/no freezer compartment) It's pretty noisy when it comes on at night. I can hear it in my bedroom..
My freezer is in my utility room which is right by the den. I wonder if it would interfere with watching television?

Well, in any case, I better get back in there, and put all the food back in my old freezer..I was going to organize it all, but alas, laziness wins out. I always have it stuffed to the gills which makes it totally unorganized.

Here at the new place, we are gradually cleaning up the back garden. Three large umbrellas are up and fallen leaves are being sucked up and the rest of the Whirligigs will be put up. Bob knows pictures of the garden are going on the gardening thread.

Prissy, the Yorkie, has figured out how to get through the fence between the house and the garage and she was in the middle of the street in front of house. A car had stopped and a lady in the car got out and picked Prissy up. She had her mother in the car with her and they played with Prissy for a bit. I took Prissy in the house and she won’t be out except on a leash until we put metal screen across that part of the fence to keep her in. She was threading her body in between two of the fence boards and getting out. That part of the fence is all that way with the off set boards so she is escaping her prison that way.

The driver of the car told me there is a Bobcat loose in the neighborhood that has been getting in yards and it killed one pet in here. The animal people are looking for it. The houses here are fairly close to Lewisville Lake (within walking distance)and the woods around the lake.

It might. Is the door to the utility room soundproofed in any way? You could always add some.

One thing about the stand-up freezer is that it would be easier to keep it organized, and to see what you have in there.

Lol, I have an upright freezer, It's slightly more organized now...by different things..chicken pork beef fish vegetables. And, thank goodness, it started right up when I tureed it back on, and started cooling down immediately.

I wonder if there are coyotes, too. They also would enjoy a Prissy snack. Better keep her close to you at all times.

Good to hear from you! Back yard and garden and everything sounds wonderful - except for the big cat. I like wild life to a point only.

Bears, wild cats, cougars, hyenas etc. forget it - let them stay far away from where I live.LOL

I've been keeping so busy I can't hardly find time to get on computer either. Trying to get the non-profit ready for a Federal visit/audit. Double checking everything before they get here.

Started a new exercise program at the civic center which is 45 minutes away. Spending about 2 hrs at the gym and swimming. An hour there and an hour back.

We have no pool in this town, so I have to drive to get that sort of exercise - that's 3 days per week, and I can visit Lowes, the farmer's market and other neat stores we don't have if I have a need to.

And of course, the green beans are producing like crazy, and I am canning 7 quart batches every other day.

Well, break time is over gotta go. You were at the top of the ping list, and I need to catch up with everyone else later. Have a great day.
