There were not enough strawberries to can. After more research, I will plant blueberry plants in the ground. The Tyler, Texas, area grows many blueberry plants and I want to check on which are grown there before I decide which to plant.

I like black berries too. My granny used to make a combo of blackberry and grape jelly from the wild plants on her farm. Then she would give everyone some for Xmas.

I also like to can the black berries in a light syrup. Open a jar, and scoop out a bowl full and float some heavy cream on them. Very delicious snack.
