It might be the first order U.S. Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi doesn't obey.
The mother of the reservist, who is being held in a Mexican jail after mistakenly crossing the border with registered guns, told FoxNews.com her son just got an "Order to Muster" letter from the Marines telling Tahmooressi to report to the 4th Civil Affairs Group in Hialeah, Fla., on June 14. Although a Marine spokeswoman later told FoxNews.com that the corps is aware of Tahmooressi's current circumstances and does not expect him to report, failure typically can result in "other than honorable discharge" and affect Veterans Administration benefits.
"You are among the elite citizens of our nation who, if needed, are ready to answer the call to defend our freedom," reads the May 9 order written by Sgt. Maj. M.E. Sprague, which also reminds the recipient that, "Once a Marine, always a Marine."

There should be a turnaround lane right before all border crossings.
Better build a 140ft wall -- 40ft below the ground and 140 above -- from one end of the US to the other along the Southern border.
Bump!
I’d like to know when we’re going to start arresting law breaking Mexican Nationals and start chaining them to a bed? America needs to grow a pair. This country is nothing but a bunch of politically correct wussies.
There is one turn around lane right before the border, but you have to be in the inside (fast) lane to access it. All of the other lanes have concrete barriers preventing you from changing lanes and getting to the last chance turn around. The San Ysidro border crossing is a very confusing place unless you have been there many times.
Anything this administration can do to piss the people off even more than they already are is for this WH to keep crapping on our military.
Seems to me that once he discovered that there was no turn around he could take, he could have turned off his vehicle and refused to go forward.
My husband (USMC ret.) is talking like that.
Go get him!
The Mexicans are undoubtedly hoping for palms to be greased (mordida; literally “to bite,” but meaning bribe). As soon as that happened he’d be on his way, minus his guns of course.
Every Marine I have ever known talks like that! ;-)
That was my first thought...
I certainly hope not...but with these SOB's I would not be surprised...
He’ll be minus his truck too.
Our leaders do not care about Americans in Mexican jails. Heck they do not even care about Americans in Benghazi compounds. They have no love in their hearts for Americans. And they have no love in their hearts for the American Constitution.
Resolving this is simple. Send a fleet and blockade Mexico’s ports, Deny their ships harbor in American ports, and deny access to Mexicans and their trucks at the Border. Watch how fast this is resolved once those corrupt pieces of garbage down south have their money supply cut off.
If we can ship guns and fund the cartels, why not just send in Special Forces for a hostage rescue then deny the whole thing ever happened?
Close that border crossing (both ways) until Mexico returns our Marine.
There are so many ways for the President to resolve this issue immediately and get him back, it’s absurd for them to act “stuck” at all.
“How did he mistakenly cross into Mexico with guns? The article doesnt say.”
His missed his off ramp on the freeway. It’s that easy in that part of the country.
It used to be like that in downtown El Paso, but they’ve made it a bit clearer since 9/11. I drove into Mexico a number of times and only noticed when the stop signs said “ALTO.”
Remnant of the days when the border was a friendlier place.
They should send a squad of marines down there to make sure he reports for duty.
Obama agrees that the man should be jailed for possessing firearms.
That’s why he’s not much interested in getting him out.
