On Tuesday morning, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) showed off an April Fools Day Winston Churchill bicep tattoo, fooling at least one co-host of Fox & Friends.
Cruz was on the show to tout his plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act and expand health savings accounts. Towards the end of the segment, co-host Steve Doocy asked the senator whether its true he has some new ink. Cruz rolled up a sleeve and showed off a cigar-smoking mug of Churchill painted in black on his arm, inspired by the Los Angeles street art depicting the lawmaker as a tattooed greaser.
While Doocy and Elisabeth Hasselbeck laughed at the faux-ink, Brian Kilmeade seemed genuinely interested in whether it was real.
Ultimately, it turned out this was a temporary tat. Because imagine how much a tattooed man would suffer in an Iowa caucus
Watch below, via Fox News:
Brilliant and with a sense of humor. Churchill would be proud.
He’s cute!
bttt
I’m thinking of getting a TED tat and I despise tattoos!
Ted is beginning to use a bit more humor, as did the Gipper so many years ago.
I’m glad it’s not permanent.
Smokin’ !!!!!!! Cool!
There are far, far worse tattoos of historical figures that one could be saddled with.
Great Pic!
I LOVE his facial expression! LOL!
I’m thinking of getting a Churchill tattoo as well, except mine will be all of him. And full sized.
I just don’t like tattoos.
Understood. But I always think back to that tattoo my dad had. The one he got after spending time in the Army from 1939 to occupation in Germany in 1947-48.
He was proud he was transferred to the newly established Air Force, and he got that tattoo on his right forearm to show it. By the time he died in 1971, it was faded and blurry, but not to him. So when I see them, I always wonder what’s behind them.
YES!
LOL
In his Victorian-style bathing suit?
My father was in the Navy during the 2nd WW and career as well as reserves. He never had a tattoo, and very much disliked them. I guess I take after him.
I’m not a tattoo fan, but dang....you HAVE to love this, LOL.
