I’ve said it before, but Cruz is one of the few on our side to really get the pop culture and be able to use it naturally. He makes great references that do not seem fake like most politicians (on both sides). Clearly Obama does this well, and it is an asset. Paul Ryan also does it pretty well, too, although not with the same effectiveness. It’s real and natural, but not as effective as Cruz.
There are few others that do this well in politics. Most seem contrived and fake.
