A video uploaded by a Phoebe Landolt shows a riot cop assaulting a girl standing on the street. Police had been called in to quell a student riot in Arizona after the Wildcats lost their game to Wisconsin.
The girl in the video did not appear to be rioting or causing a scene, but the officer can be clearly viewed charging her and knocking her over for apparently no reason.
“Then dont blame the cops for adopting the assume the public is all bad...”
Huh? This is ok with you?
Portrait vs landscape.
Par for the course throughout all of American history.
The only difference is cameras.
Really? You see themes eh? We saw parts of MA under Martial Law last year looking for the “Joker”. Doors being kicked in, people being forced to “shelter in Place” I.e. Martial Law, having their home torn apart, belongings crawled through all with out a warrant!
I am glad they got the joker..don’t get me wrong.
That was a “dry run” for the jackboots. I just got heaved over by a riot vehicle filled with cops in full metal jacket for a car jacking with shots exchanged..an hour after one of the perps was apprehended 13 miles away!
I live in a very small town. This crap is getting out of control, and Yes, I have a tremendous amount of respect for those who protect us.
This brownshirt crap, per Zero and Erkel has GOT to stop!
Oh, I completely agree. In Mexico I’ve seen Federal police physically assault local police to commandeer an arrest they wanted. This is what our local police really don’t get. What happens when they find themselves disarmed or defacto disarmed (no ammo) unless they the program.
This argument that we are lucky to have “the Constitution” or the “Bill of Rights” is a non sequitor => these are natural rights to an American, as they should be.
I would ask of people here are you a small “f” freeper or a big “F” freeper? A lot of people here supported NADA because it had funding rolled in - this is a disgrace.
“I NEVER did have a bad experience with any cops, here or abroad.”
Well, maybe you aren’t in the best position to judge them then? Perhaps you should leave that to the folks who have seen both sides of the boys in blue, instead of those who only encounter “Officer Friendly”?
Remember the saying, “a conservative is a liberal who has been mugged”? The converse of that is liberals who haven’t been victims tend to attribute the best motives to criminals, thinking that their crimes are just caused by poverty or bad upbringing. It’s the same way with police abuse. Those who have never encountered it have a much easier time accepting the excuses for it. Once it happens to you, not so much.
“Although there are 15- 25 cops in the video and one knocks a girl on her ass, between 75 - 100 percent of cops are out of control”
I’d amend that description a little bit:
There are 15-25 cops in the video. One knocks a girl on her ass, and the rest of them do nothing to help the victim or stop the criminal cop from fleeing the scene.
Illegal means something forbidden by law; a defined criminal act. Unlawful means something that is not authorized by law, but which may not be expressly defined as a criminal act.
For example, it is not illegal in my state to carry a pistol, but it is unlawful to carry one without a permit.
Here’s the thing, I’m all for law and order. The best way to have that is to teach personal responsibility and morals.
Its not further militarization of the police and ROE which are significantly less restrictive than our military has in a war zone.
“ROE which are significantly less restrictive than our military has in a war zone”
Good point. Besides just the objectionable nature of that situation, it does go to show that order can be kept in even a hostile population without giving so much leeway to the police.

Hard pressed keeping that ‘Support Your Local Police’ bumper sticker on my car
I’ve lived abroad as well and one thing about cops is universally true: you don’t want to be around them. Their reason for existing is to act as the muscle of the state. Beating and jailing people is their job. That’s why they carry clubs and handcuffs. Its not a fashion statement.
Pretty much. Cameras are telling a story different from the officer friendly myth. A lot of folks on FR don’t seem to like losing their nostalgic view of things. Even if it runs contrary to reality.
So, what, we wait until it gets as bad as that here before we object? NO! I will fight tyranny wherever it may be found.
Then the police started a riot by attacking people on the street.
Yep
Maybe they should outlaw Walmart?
Hence my qualification as a quote-unquote disturbance.
Totally agree about cops elsewhere in the world.
Real Dicks and don’t solve much...
