Damn.
Damn famous people are dropping off like flies here lately. Jim Kelly has always seemed like a good guy.
When Jim played for the Houston Gamblers he and I used the same barber.
Remember Kelly’s first big game at Miami, they went up to Penn State and beat them, that was the beginning of their ascent to the elite of college football in the 80s.
That’s sucks....
Bummer. I wonder if he smoked or chewed tobacco.
Sorry to hear that. I always like the guy.
Prayers for him and his family.
Hang in there Jim - prayers out.
Bills at Jets, 1980's - Marty Lyons and Mark Gastineau break through the Bills line and level Jim in the backfield, where I think it was Gastineau who proceeds to punch Kelly in the head.
The ref's call: "Personal foul No. 99 - he was giving the quarterback the business" as he gestured with punching motions - it was just hillarious (not for Kelly, though).
When cancer recurs it tends to be very aggressive, metastasizing and hard to treat
Prayers for his health.
Yikes, tough times for Bills fans.
