Actually a 14X70 mobile home.
Turns out it was a chimney fire and though the fire dept arrived quickly enough, the house was burnt in such a way, it's a loss.
We're fine, our dog (90 lbs of 2 yr old black lab) was gotten out unconscious, but they have this nifty dog oxygen mask and without getting into a long story, he's OK ... just very freaked at the time and almost normal now (what's normal for a 2 YO Lab ?)
Anyway ... we're put up in a hotel via Red Cross and Salvation Army at least until Sunday (but wee're told they'd swing more if needed)
We have a crew of church and other men coming Sat morning to take the burnt trailer out and prepare for another to come in.
No insurance (trailer too old, no one would touch it), so I call on my prayer warrior freepers to ask God to milk just ONE of those cattle for me.
Our attitude is good, we have food, clothing and the beginnings for a new living situation, We own the land ... just need another trailer.
So ...
How was YOUR week ?
/8^)
Oh my goodness so sorry to hear this. Prayers up for you and your family.
Sorry to hear about this, knarf. In a world with an increasing population of perpetually aggrieved whiners, your attitude and response is refreshing. Faith in gracious provision from Above at all times is a good way to live.
I one lost everything in a fire, so I feel for you on that. Will add you into my prayers.
Shoot that is really tough news. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family
That sucketh! I know what your feeling... We lost all in an electric fire back in ‘80, then hit again with a propane fire in another location in ‘90 that took all our earthly possessions.
Be of good cheer! You still your lives and the good love of the Lord! Another adventure has begun!
Prayers....so sorry for you and your family.
I know the feeling and what you are going through.
It was about 25 years ago when my rural house caught on fire
just before daybreak. My wife, 5 yr old daughter, and myself were asleep in the same room. I was awakened by the sound of “crackling”. As I got out of bed to check, I found that the entire front porch was a wall of flames. The three of us escaped out a back door, but our devoted dog did not make it.
Nothing but ash remained at the site. I hadn’t cried so hard since I was a baby.
Neighbors, and families of my daughter’s school mates were wonderful in helping us to get our lives back together.
I had no insurance at all.
Prayers for you and your family.
Thank God everyone is okay. Doors close, new doors open. Hopefully the new door will be awesome. Prayers out to you and your family.
My day has been bad, not bad as your week though friend. I’m glad your dog is okay. Best wishes to you and yours.
...Handling it like a warrior. WELL DONE.
I’m so sorry. A house fire has to be one of the most traumatic events — to lose your home, your center, so suddenly like that.... ughh. Prayers for you, knarf, and so glad to hear your dog is doing ok.
Awwww. Bless you knarf. I prayed for you and your family.
Sorry, dude. Prayers that things get better for you and yours.
How awful. My prayers to you knarf.
prayers up for ou and yours, glad your pup is still with you. that would have truly sucked. hard enough they don’t live very long to begin with.
You have the right attitude. God is opening another window.
I had a partial amputation of my big toe this morning.
But I got a banana pudding out of it too - so it worked out.
Sorry about your home and am sure a better one is ahead.
My sympathies to you! A difficult experience to overcome. I hope this turns out to be a temporary speed bump in your life.
It's the moving of them which can cost. But then you know this.
News...I pray that those needing a decent one removed will make noises enough you will come across the announcement.
It would be nice if they were so inclined to share in with costs of having a mobile home they no longer wanted and needed "gone" be moved. For they've got to be moved, or dismantled in place, which also costs $$$.
Put an ad in your local papers? Perhaps even a local craigslist -- but be prepared to look gift horses in the mouth, too? Be polite of course -- and pray the Lord will give you just the right words to say, to just the right people. You never know. Some person one may least expect could hear just the right words, and then tell someone else, etc.
It comes to mind...that when or if the Lord would go this route...let others be blessed by being His vessels. It may be the very thing they need to set them on better paths.
That's a happier way to look at it than --- I was thirsty and hungry -- and you helped me not. It's a bummer to be the one that keeps getting passed by.
Ah, but the Salvation Army. One can hardly go wrong donating to that outfit. They have just about the lowest adminstrative overhead costs of them all. In fact --- aren't they so far ahead of just about all the rest (in efficiency as to low admin costs, salaries, etc) that it isn't even funny?
Even though some "use" 'em, perhaps, in any charity one has to be willing to help those who maybe should have helped themselves more -- to reach those who for whatever reasons could not.
Prayers to you and your family. I’m glad you and your dog are ok.
