I have purchased most of the components to build miners from Amazon, good pricing, free shipping.

I expect they will be announcing that they accept Bitcoin shortly, there is no getting around it.

“I have purchased most of the components to build miners from Amazon”

I was posting about their web services. NO MINIMUM MONTHLY FEE. No wonder the Atlas site runs so slow!

Watching Atlas trade volume today.

Zero ‘shares’ traded. Net profit for Atlas:

.01 x 0.00 = 0.00

You can’t keep a good idea down, despite what all the naysayers say.

I still don't get what's "good" about it. The fact that it doesn't involve banks, which pleases the Occupy Wall Street crowd... or the fact that there's no government backing.

Maybe the followers think that somehow it's going to change the distribution of wealth... bitcoin followers are all going to get rich and the rest of the poor saps are all going to lose to the "banksters".

From the article:

Soft launch

The Atlas ATS platform has already been soft-launched and it handles about 10,000 transactions a day. Atlas ATS CEO Shawn Sloves said integration across multiple locations will improve liquidity by creating a global order book that circumvents the existing bitcoin trading environment.

He described the current environment as regionally focused and fragmented and said it was not “Wall Street grade.”

Sloves expects daily trading to hit 100,000 transactions by the end of the year and he is basing his prediction on demand expressed by institutional clients, not bitcoin enthusiasts. This, he argues, is what will set the platform apart from existing exchanges.

“your right gator, this bitcoin thing is dead in the water”

I didn’t say dead in the water. Just posting my observations.

OTOH, it is amazing what gets traction in today’s market.

LENR, homeopathy, Garcinia Cambogia, A2 milk ....

No mate, but it "could" prevent the governments from printing unlimited currency out of thin air (there is no longer "money" being used). It could put the supply of money back into the hands of the people, where it belongs. It could mean lower user fees. It could mean fewer instances of stolen customer credit card and banking records. It could mean a more level playing field for small business. It could mean that tax records are easier to maintain and taxes easier to calculate. And the things I've listed so far, are just for starters.

"The fact that it doesn't involve banks, which pleases the Occupy Wall Street crowd"

I don't know where you got that info from, but the OWS crowd, although educated in some of the finest schools, are not intelligent enough to understand Bitcoin.

"Maybe the followers think that somehow it's going to change the distribution of wealth..."

The developers of Bitcoin don't believe in the redistribution of wealth, that's one of the main reasons they developed it, nor is wealth distributed by Bitcoin.

bitcoin followers are all going to get rich and the rest of the poor saps are all going to lose to the "banksters"

Although I don't believe that is the intent, it very well may true!

You would do well to study up on it, before you judge it, you snooze you lose!
