I am done. This site has broken me. I am as staunch a conservative as you will find. After returning from Iraq, injured and upset, I turned here and found a welcoming community that shared my thoughts. I am a proud Gadsden Flag waiving man of the Tea Party movement. But because I don't think Sarah Palin is as historically important as other GOP women in the past, I am now considered an idiot, a RINO, ass-kisser and whatever negative connotation you can throw my way. This site has changed so much since that dictator want to be became President it sickens me. It's lost its sense of community and has ran off many a good person. Heck even the Tea Party seems to be distorted here.
But I'm not going to opus because of it.
Ditto. As long as she supports McCain, I can’t support her. It’s time to stand up and be counted. And for those who say “She owes him.” When will that debt ever be paid? After McCain helps Obama destroy us?
You are right about that, but I might have also done what she did.
I mean, all she did was accept a role based upon who she was, and who she was was a good, conservative person.
And for that she was assailed from all sides. Even by the side that put her on the ticket.
Really, it was just sickening to see that.
If I was her, I might be inclined to spend the rest of my days with my family, who incidentally were also being attacked for no reason.
It’s possible that she came to the conclusion that there is no saving this country, which is about where I am at in my own head these days.
And if there is anyone among us who can save it, that person and their family is going to be utterly destroyed in the process of trying.
We are in a very sad place.

I have my doubts about Sarah Palin myself. The MSM has distorted her so much she’s spoiled goods as far most of the public is concerned. Resigning from Governor of Alaska does not help her. What I would like to see is a presidential debate between Hitlery and Sarah Palin. She would have a chance to restore her image and respect as far as the public in concerned.

Heck, the other day I disagreed with a poster and I know the guy personally.
I didn’t make my disagreement personal and that is where we should all draw the line.
Argue the merits of one’s position but, have respect for one another’s point of view as well.
Sometimes we learn later, if only by influence, that we should be more informed on a subject or maybe we weren’t looking at a certain subject in the same light we now do.
So, someone excoriated you for not think Sarah Palin is more consequential than other GOP women.
I took some good hits on Christinne O’Donnell after another poster here made it clear he was obsessed with her.
Guy’s a lunatic, plain and simple but, he made up lie about what I said and for that I pulled my support.
I don’t think he ever got over it but, he was, in fact, a liar. I proved it and he never, ever backed down from his false assertion.
If someone is bullying you, they are dealt with in the same manner as all bullies who get an attitude adjustment:
“You deal with them now and forcefully. Lest they continue their warped idea that you are victim and continue to target you”.
So, vent. Vent away but, I like your posts and maybe now is a good time to take a break from this obsession of ours and clear your head.

No reason to leave the site after 10 years. I think everyone gets Freeper Fatigue from time to time, lol.
Myself, I usually avoid threads that I know are going to be contentious.
Sometimes things can turn on a dime and change mid-thread. And sometimes I just get crazy and get in an on-line “discussion” about something I know is going to invite a name calling fest because it is something I believe in. But I kinda expect the brutality that I know is coming my way.
Bottom line is...who cares? At our roots, we agree about the basics. If we sat down for a cup of coffee with the folks we disagree with it would all be good (sometimes, lol).
