SAN DIEGO A man verbally attacked a Girl Scout who was selling cookies at a grocery store in Clairemont, the victim and mother said Wednesday.
Cindy Baldan, 13, has been a member of the Girl Scouts since she was in kindergarten, but what she said happened to her Tuesday afternoon at Kiels grocery store scared her.
I said, Would you like to buy cookies? He said, No, I dont want to buy them, said Baldan, adding the man turned on her and began to yell.
He said She looks like a hooker! said Cindys mother, Melissa Baldan.
The man entered the store and returned later to continue yelling at the teen.
We were both crying, said Baldans mother. I was trying to console her and random strangers that saw it were trying to comfort my daughter.
Baldan said it shattered her sense of confidence and sense of safety fearing someone else will yell at her.
I was visibly shaken, said Melissa Baldan. He wasnt crazy, he was just mean.
Fox 5 attempted to contact the man at his home, but there was no answer.
I wonder what prompted that --
Maybe the guy has seen a bunch of hookers dressed like girl scouts?
Ok, I'll take one for the team.
Yup.
I try to avoid search terms that imply an interest in underage girls. Some remarkably unpleasant stuff pops up.
Okay, I’ll admit it. I’d buy cookies from her
I found her Mom’s page. Nothing on there yet....

But, I will not be surprised if it is in the works.
I’d donate to the TROOP so not a penny went to GSA headquarters. That way, a message can be given without hurting the girls.
I haven’t seen many outside grocery stores. Since I’m currently not working, I don’t have to decline to buy cookies at the office.
I'm having trouble seeing a crime here.
Rudeness, etc., sure. But what's the crime?
Haha
Or maybe....
Maybe the mommy has a lawyer and is fixing to sue the snot out of the creep. (I’m guessing they know who it is, since the news crew went to his house.)
And on the advice of her attorney - she is not publically commenting on this matter amy further.
Good people take the fight directly to the purveyors of the culture of death. And by that I mean adults. The acceptance of abortion is waning among younger people today. The momentum can continue, but not by making it ugly in front of innocent children.
Have you seen some of those 13 year olds these days? She probably did look like a hooker. Not saying he was right in bringing that to the mother’s attention but...
I haven’t bought a box of overpriced GS cookies in 30 years. And, no, I don’t appreciate having them in the doorways and asking if I want to buy a box and getting snotty when I say no.
Yeah, I didn’t see a crime either. But, hey, if they “felt afraid for their safety” by all means, call the cops, file a report that a grumpy old man swore at you and disparaged your cookies. Basically, my point was that even if they had a reason to be concerned for their safety, they’d already taken the only necessary steps to make themselves feel safer (well, other than the obvious one that you and I would have already been doing, but that’s beside the point). Once they had reported it to the cops, case closed, move on about your business. Drama mama really over-reacted. But then, I can’t imagine breaking down in tears just because some grumpy old man swears at me.
Twice the price of the French Maid outfit, IIRC. LOL.
LOL — I love that picture
Politicizing either the BSA or the GSA is a stupid idea.
Simple answer:
Each year there are less cookies in the box, no thank you.
And how does Fox 5 know where the jerk lives?
***
Exactly. This story sounds like bunk to me.
