SAN DIEGO A man verbally attacked a Girl Scout who was selling cookies at a grocery store in Clairemont, the victim and mother said Wednesday.
Cindy Baldan, 13, has been a member of the Girl Scouts since she was in kindergarten, but what she said happened to her Tuesday afternoon at Kiels grocery store scared her.
I said, Would you like to buy cookies? He said, No, I dont want to buy them, said Baldan, adding the man turned on her and began to yell.
He said She looks like a hooker! said Cindys mother, Melissa Baldan.
The man entered the store and returned later to continue yelling at the teen.
We were both crying, said Baldans mother. I was trying to console her and random strangers that saw it were trying to comfort my daughter.
Baldan said it shattered her sense of confidence and sense of safety fearing someone else will yell at her.
I was visibly shaken, said Melissa Baldan. He wasnt crazy, he was just mean.
Fox 5 attempted to contact the man at his home, but there was no answer.
Let’s charge him with a hate crime. Mommy should open a facebook page,so she can collect thousands of dollars. Now,we’re all off to ChuckyCheese!

“California man pulls gun on girl selling cookies door to door”
Take issue with the adults who run the program. Leave the kids alone.
” just expecting the parents to do all the work and sell them at work.”
__
When my kids were young and had things to sell my husband refused to sell them at work. They were on their own.
.
They better try REAL SOON to contact the man at his house. Because later will be too late.
Both organizations have been hijacked for the Left. Sorry...but I’m a long-time BSA adult leader, and if I had a 11 or 12 year-old today, I wouldn’t even consider putting him in BSA.
BSA stacked the voting to create the outcome they wanted in the “new rule” they implemented in January, and the vast majority of BSA-registered adults were hard-over against it. BSA went against the values of the majority of its families and its adult leaders.
As for GSA, they’ve been political for decades. There are hundreds of stories about how GSA national and regional gatherings are “headlines” by pro-abortion, pro-feminist advocates to push political agendas.
I know hundreds of current and former BSA-member adults who have or had boys who were active in scouting, who also had girls. And I don’t think I could name even a handful of those families who had any positive words for GSA, or who put a daughter in GSA.
My youngest made Eagle rank a few months ago, and he and I are about to resign from BSA. We waited for a few events where our active status had meaning to others in the troop and District to pass, and we have about two weeks left until the last of those events is over. Once we get home from that evening’s activities we’ll be hanging up our Class A uniforms for good, and walking away from BSA for life.
Both of us are looking at Trail Life. After the stunt BSA national pulled with the vote on “alternate lifestyle choices” we’ll never again trust them to operate in the best interest of boys.
I can pretty much guarantee somewhere you that out there is slutwear made to look like a Girl Scout uniform. But I don't intend to check.
So........
There were no MEN around to teach the son-uv-a-biotch some manners and courtesy?
Truly. some “men” simply NEED and DESERVE a daily azzkicking, just for the fun of it.
Everybody loves to play the victim card. "Look at me, look at me, something bad happened to me, I'm a victim. Feel sorry for me. Call the media." They had already filed a police report, so they had called the cops, what did they honestly think calling the media was going to do, other than garner attention and sympathy? What the grumpy old man did was inexcusable, but mom is an attention whore. The lesson she taught her daughter is worse than the verbal abuse she endured. Mom had a perfect opportunity to teach her daughter that there are unpleasant people in this world, and although you sometimes interact with them, you don't have to own their issues or let their issues negatively impact you. Mom had the opportunity to teach her daughter to be a strong, independent-thinking young woman who won't be pushed around by others. Instead, she taught her to be a victim, to be afraid, and to run to somebody else to "tattle" about what happened to her.
Not necessarily. Lots of GSA girls simply wear the sash over their regular clothes. Some don’t wear any GSA logo gear at all when they’re peddling cookies outside our local grocery stores and WalMart.
This is stupid. Politicizing either the BSA or the GSA is a stupid idea.
Really? Then the Boy Scouts should not have jumped on the Homosexual Bandwagon and the Girl Scouts should not have gotten in bed with the abortion industry...
You are known by the company you keep..........
Both organization have begun to rapidly lose members because of these actions.......
You and I are in complete agreement on this.
I’m not sure what’s age-appropriate with kids these days. If a Scout wants to know why I won’t buy her cookies, I’ll ‘splain it to her adult minder.
LMAO! Where did you find this?
Yeppers. Look at post 21.
I’d bet good money the FB page is already up and running. With 1,000 likes. Oh. And don’t forget to buy some Girl Scout Cookies.
Believe it or not...
Fark.com
It’s an idiot lefty site with the mentality of an 8th grade boy. But they do post some interesting stuff there.
You're absolutely correct. It's not the kid's fault that the organizations have turned into leftist shills. I think the mom would have been perfectly justified to claim a fear for the child's safety and TASED the idiot with a few million volts to the family jewels.
This is why the marxist/islamists/racists/feminists/abortionists, beat us at every turn.
Nothing is sacred to them. They are busy teaching five year olds about sex.
We dare not say a word to a twelve year old.
That is just too much of a head start to overcome.
I understand people not wanting to support these organizations. I know I don’t.
But this is not something that should be done.
If you don’t want to buy them, then just walk on. No need to make an obnoxious ass of yourself or be cruel to a young person.
