In his opening monologue today, Sean Hannity announced that he is moving out of New York City, Long Island and New York State altogether for maybe Florida or Texas.
Born and raised in New York, Hannity would follow other conservative stars like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck out of the Empire State because of high taxes, high regulation and lack of freedom.
“NY has lost over $45B is tax base”
Now if it would just sink into the Hudson all would be well. :-)
Is Sean doing his Fox TV show from this new studio ?
Are his guests traveling to his L.I. studio for a 10pm show ?
I don't think this is a "tax" issue driving his decision to move. It is a benefit, but he could have moved long ago.
I think Fox wants to compete head to head, if only by demographics, against Jon Stewart. They could do this with Greg Gutfeld.
Just a thought.
Same for us here in Virginia, especially if it continues to turn more blue. We have the house ready, and the agent says it’s going to be a pretty good early spring for sales.
A quick sale and we’re out of here. Someone get us a list of the conservative states ...if there are any left.
Powerful post....
Thats too bad he is leaving and says a lot for doing business in New York. Sean even grew up there, I think. It must have been a difficult decision.
Why dont you make it really difficult for enterprising people, New York?
Betcha, just betcha that the Brady’s are Florida residents. You’re not worth $300mm by giving away 65 cents of every dollar you make.
“Green Acres is the place to be.....”
Farm livin’ is the life for me.
Your probably right, Sean did some shows from Becks new studio and said it was the best studio he ever worked in.
Texas has low taxes, and Ted Cruz.
Naples FL is way nicer than Long Island, and he has family there. Problem is its not a media center like Texas.
Beck is building the Blaze, Sean could do a Beck TV show.
This situation is developing.
Cuomo to conservatives drop dead. Hannity to Cuomo, up yours.
Threatened.
We'll see if he actually makes good on it.
I left California eight years ago, and they're still trying to ding me for state income taxes. It's been a nightmare dealing with their franchise tax board and the various county records offices.
I hope you are ding-less. Good luck with that.
Knock on wood. We're in the process of getting the last (phony) tax lien removed. Should be able to get it off our credit records within a few months.
‘Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty you are free at last.’
Hannity is a decent fellow, but his show is a bit repetitive. So, I would not be surprised if Fox is changing its lineup and this may be a reason to leave. No matter, he will be gainfully employed wherever he goes.
One of my favorite movies and something I did in real life....well, minus the Duke of NY theatrics and run-ins with sewer-dwelling cannibals.
I was born and raised in California. All four of my grandparents are buried in L.A. county. My entire extended family is there, as well as three of my grandkids.
I'll tell you what, though. I don't even remember crossing the state line into Arizona on our way to Texas. I left before I was even gone.
The LI studio allows Sean to tape his Friday show just before (or immediately after) his Thursday night program. If you watch those shows (many featuring a studio audience or panel) you won’t see the “Live” tag above the Fox News logo.
With an annual profit approaching $1 billion, FNC can easily afford to bus (or limo) guests to a Long Island studio for Sean. On a recent edition of “The Five,” Bob Beckel mentioned that FNC provides apartments for himself (and other DC-based talent) that commute to NYC for the show. If they’re paying for Beckel’s apartment in Manhattan, it wouldn’t be difficult to contract with a limo firm to drive guests to Long Island for a show taping.
I guess Sean got the message the Cuomo really doesn’t want him and “folks of his ilk” in the liberal-socialist-secular only state of New York.
Still stuck in the Old Dominion until retirement (about 15 more years)...after that, I plan to decamp for Tennessee or Mississippi.
What took him so long, I’m dying to gth out of Hunterdon County NJ....the libs are moving in....I saw my first “I’m ready for Hillary” bumper and decided it’s time to get out.
