Well, I’ve been reprogrammed. I have the right hip, both legs, the lower 1/3rd of my back programmed. I am now able to sleep on my right side which is how I am most comfortable. I am still having to take the dilaudid, gabapentin and amitriptiline and if I don’t take it, the pain gets so bad I cry. My legs feel better, but from what I can gather, the back will never be free from pain. It doesn’t even seem to have lessened the pain in my back. I get better coverage when I lean back. It seems to dig deeper into the nerve and nearly locks me up in that position with the strength of the electrical impulse.
The doctor says my nerve damage is really bad and that causes them problems for programming, they can’t find the location for the nerves. I didn’t know the nerves change places... If they can’t get me the relief, soon...I’m going to have the unit removed. This isn’t good when I need relief in certain areas and they won’t work with me as long as needed. One of the technicians always seems to be in a hurry, but the other one actually spent time with me and made sure the right hip was added to the other areas that were already covered.
I have an appointment to see my doc on the 27th for my hands and arms. Things are weak and painful, lots of numbness, tingling, like they are waking up from being asleep but yet so numb I don’t know what to do to make them feel better. It took me over 20 minutes to get up my ramp after checking the mail a few days ago...I thought I wasn’t going to make it. I can’t close my right hand to grip anything and that makes it really difficult to propel my chair. I kept looking around for someone who could help me get up the ramp, but there was nobody driving by or walking their dogs at that time. For the last 2 days, the mail person has delivered the mail to me at the door so I don’t have to go out to the box. It seems as though she plans to do that constantly, so as long as she is working the route, I shouldn’t have to go to the box...that would be awesome. I’m thinking the doctor may recommend an electric chair or a scooter since I am having so many issues.
Anyway...long enough update for you all? Sorry for bending your ear so much. Hugs to the best prayer warriors ever! God Bless you all!
I don’t mind hearing about your latest!
I am glad you have pills to remove the pain and I am glad that you are able to find a position to sleep in.
Prayers up for improvement and comfort.
Continued Prayers...
Progress, that’s a good thing.
Continued prayers for total and complete healing.
Prayer for you. Hope you get a scooter. Sounds like it would help.
Keep taking the dilaudid, gabapentin and amitriptiline.
The Gabapentin is for nerves and really helps.
I’m going to ask for a refill tomorrow, to calm mine.
Keep on keeping on.

Here's a thought on how to deal with the tech who always seems in a hurry. Kindly tell him/her that you understand how busy he/she is, and ask for someone who has time to give you the attention you need. They'll probably deny being too busy, but you will have brought it to their attention. If that doesn't cause them to slow down and pay attention to you, then tell them you don't want to be in the way of whatever is so pressing, and insist they send you someone else.
You are the patient. There are few situations in life when you have the right to be self-centered, but this is one of them. As a matter of fact, you have an obligation to focus on your healing, and demand your support team (including this tech) do the same.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. (((HUGS)))
Trussell,
Here’s a Bible Promise on which to stand: The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. (Psalm 138:8)
Father God, You promise that you will perfect that which concerns us. We humbly ask in Jesus name, that you will perfect the nerves in Trussell’s back. We believe You can cause the nerves in her back to regenerate.
We speak to pain in Trussell’s back, “God has given Jesus the name which is above every name. At His name, every knee should bow. Pain has name. We say to pain, “Be gone in the name of Jesus.”
In the name of Jesus we speak to the nerves in Trussells body and command them to come alive. Nerves, come alive! Hear the Word of the Lord!
We ask Holy Spirit, Breath new life into Trussells nerves and body (and all the other Freepers who are suffering with similiar maladies) that she may have wholeness and fullness of life.
Jesus, You bore our illness and our afflictions on the cross. By Your stripes we were made whole. We thank God that You won the victory!
There is nothing that is impossible for you. We stand in awe and wonder of Who You are!
May Your mercy be upon Trussell today. May she look to your promises of healing and know what You say You will do.
In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Lord Jesus, hear the complaint of Thy servant and bring a relief from pain.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
Glad you can at least get some sleep. Some days it feels as though I had no sleep because my arms and hands keep going numb so I constantly change positions, so I can understand some of your problems. I’m continuing to pray that you will get better soon.

touch the disc and it will tell you what area that the disc controls. Lumbar is colon, bladder, legs, etc.
T zone will get a arm, C zone neck, shoulder and head pain.
And some of those drugs you need to look up, gabapentin causes muscle pain as does amitriptiline. besides they are addictive. Sleep in a recliner, works for me most of the time. Stretches out the spine taking pressure off pinched nerves.
My DX is -3.1 and NO one will touch me to repair anything. Unless it is repaired I will have to live in pain. Because I can’t take the dam# drugs because of the side effects.
Thanks for the update. Prayers will continue. How to fix back problems seems beyond doctors. May God be with yours.
Prayers up as always. BTT for a lot of people who really do care. Best to you and God bless.
So sorry to hear all these pains and difficulties persist - and I continue to pray for you!
Thanks for the update. Still praying for you for relief.
I pray that they find just the right “formula” to make you feel better and with less pain.
I have heard that back pain is forever, but if it can just be minimized so you can function, it would be a blessing, I’m sure.
(((hugs))))
Will pray. That is some intense pain.
