A Swedish hunter has provided new insight into how to open a bottle of beer – by shooting its cap off with a shotgun.

Carlsberg-loving Anders Rodenberg uploaded a video to YouTube showing him perform the dangerous stunt.

‘Real men drink beer,’ he says in the clip, before holding the bottle of Carlsberg at arms-length and firing the shotgun, blowing off the lid.

Video: Man uses a shotgun to open his bottle of beer If Carlsberg made hunters: Anders Rodenberg uses shotgun to open his beer (Picture: YouTube/Anders Rodenberg) He then holds the undamaged glass bottle to the camera adding, ‘and I drink Carlsberg’, before taking a refreshing sip.

The 15-second video, titled ‘How to open a beer in Sweden part II’, has attracted over 18,000 views and some negative comments.

Many have branded the stunt as ‘stupid’, but some admired his skills.

One YouTube user said: ‘This was a really stupid thing to do safety wise, but also mildly impressive.‘

The way to avoid this predicament is to have a bottle opener on your key chain. Never know when it will come in handy.

Can anyone identify the shotgun?
It's a Glock AR-47. That clip is *full* of cop-killer bullets! You don't need more than 7 rounds to open a beer!
(as I smugly adjust my tin-foil hat to a jauntier angle)

A pocket knife can open a bottle, eventually, without cutting anything.

“A gun is a tool, Joey. It’s no better or worse than the man using it.”

Or in this case, stupid as the man using it. You shouldn’t be afraid of firearms, but you should respect them.

Wow. Now that puts a different view on “hold my beer and watch this” doesn’t it.

"May have used the muzzle blast?"

That's what I am wondering.

Or a BIC lighter. May be able to do it with a shotshell. I’ll look into it.

I bet you could empty the shot and just use the plastic shot cup/wad to open the bottle.
