I am 13-3 for the week.
Was it an easy week?
got GUAR winner and GUAR loser .... 12-5 on both for season. I am bad at that game.
With so many no names and castoffs on defense, they should have changed their name to the “Home Depot” Cowboys. They played a whale of a game tonight, can’t blame them for the loss.
“Officials screw over Dallas - not too shocking.”
Officials? They were Dallas clock keepers. It was a Dallas home game!
Ah. So I’m forced to find the keystone moment, besides letting Aaron Rodgers throw a TD on 4th and 8, to be the usually golden foot of Robbie Gould failing in OT in MN.
I guess Chargers fans won’t be sleeping in. Kinda mean of the schedulers. But I’m guessing they’re too thrilled they’re in to care when the game is on.
“GUAR winner and GUAR loser “
I’ll have to give that a try next year.
14-2 (AZ, CHI) Easy week for me. Mark Schlereth went 16-0!
How did you do for the season? Jaws wins the ESPN experts with 174-81-1 (it just discounts the GB/MN tie but I added it)
I correctly picked 144 games according to ESPN (144-111-1). 70th percentile of ESPN pigskin pickem players. Sadly I didn’t beat a single ESPN expert.
Surprisingly I did slightly better in spread picks (according to percentile not number of correct picks) 73rd percentile.
167-88 for me.
i caught up to Jaworski a few weeks back, only to falter the past few weeks.
70th pctile ... meaning way below average? what is the best 99th percentile or 01 %ile?
1:05 EST? Sunday...http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/schedules/postseason, so you must mean West Coast time?
I tend to see the closest match being Saints at Eagles.
Otherwise, don’t want to step on people’s toes here.
I think Cincinnati looks to win over the Chargers,
Niners over Packers, Chiefs over Colts. Saints at Eagles, tossup.
I like the Cowboys but they do seem a bit hyped up too much by the media.
well, for people watching in SD, it is 10:00 a.m. PST.
99th is the best. The top player got 192 wins.
Their math must be wrong. Let me check. Yes. It lists the average scores per week. The final average listed is only 83 wins, WTF!! Adding them up manually gets me 155, not 83. Percentiles were clearly calculated based on the 83 figure. Someone did some shoddy work on that website. Same problem with the spread picks.
Looks like I forgot to put in my Week 15 picks for straight up picks, except the Thursday game (which I lost). Looking them up here I went 9-7.
So I actually did 153-102-1. I thought something was up.
Actually 2 games SHORT of the real average though :(. 3 games short of the real spread pick average as well. Right in the middle.
I narrowly beat a CBS “expert” though.

Jason La Canfola. Never heard of him.
Math, boy oh boy.
Colts beat KC in KC just a week or two ago so that looks like an interesting rematch in the Hoosier Dome.
Who in the H are the ESPN hosts?
Straight Up isn’t that hard.
CBS’s pundits do a fine job, CBS sports radio is on all the time now.
Jason La Canfora, once you hear the name, you might hear the name more and more.
wrong, the officials keep the time.
Hey Bender Deadskins got rid their coach Mike Shannarn right now
How long before Boss Jerry Jones give rid of his Cowpokes coach
note 1
i think my total lack of expertise ... my amateur status ... gave me an edge this year, early in the year.
I did not buy into the insider-knowledge crowd that KNEW miami nyj and buff all stunk ... so I got off to a good start. Plus I am a conservative picker. I go with the favorite team unless I see a reason for an upset.
note 2
if ya look at the SD schedule when they were 5-7, you can see why they were counted out ... considering they had no tiebreakers ... it was almost impossible for them to win.
Even after the victory over DEN on THUR nite to go 7-7, their hopes were crushed when BALT and MIA both won that week.
That left them with a 3% chance of playoffs
http://files.nfl-forecast.com/
all 6 remaining games had to go their way
2 SD wins
2 MIA losses
2 BALT losses
At 50/50 each game, that is one out of 64 or 1.5%
note 3
Date & Time Favorite Spread Underdog
1/4 4:35 ET At Indianapolis -2.5 Kansas City
1/4 8:00 ET At Philadelphia -2.5 New Orleans
1/5 1:00 ET At Cincinnati -7 San Diego
1/5 4:30 ET San Francisco -2.5 At Green Bay
Chudzinski, Shanahan, Frazier and now Schiano, gone.
And Detroit sacked Schwartz, I think the total number of coaches sacked (including earlier with Kubiak at Houston) is up to 6 or I thought I heard 8.
Chudzinski
Shanahan
Frazier
Schiano (along with the General Manager)
Schwartz
Kubiak
So my count is 6 so far, think the Giants said they would keep Coughlin. Jets, Dolphins will keep theirs I believe.
No disrespect there Mr. Perdogg, but the officials on the field are not responsible for the play clock. It was the Dallas Cowboys play clock operator who made the mistake. They hit the 25 sec. button instead of 40 sec. The officials could have corrected it if they had noticed, but it wasn't brought to their attention.
I heard what DeweyFrank says here as well, the time keepers are separate from the Officials.
