What about in the morning when my windshield is covered with ice or frost?

Who told the automakers to eliminate ashtrays? The government? I don’t smoke, but that’s ridiculous.

How about using the same system for an umbrella?

I like wind-up windows. They seem to work better than power windows when the ignition is off, or maybe that’s just me.

I don’t think they need to invent anything that isn’t already here. They have stuff you can spray on the window and nothing sticks to it once it dry’s.

When I was in the Air Force I observed that windshield Wipers were Non existent on High performance Air Craft like the FB-111 fighter Bomber. That plane used High pressure bleed air to clean its windshield.

There’s also the possibility of someday “quantum levitating” water away from a windshield. It’s the reverse effect of how flies can stick to windows.

Some fighter jets, like the old F-4 Phantom, used high pressure, high temperature bleed air blasted at the windscreen from a duct at the base of the windscreen. Need a turbine engine to have bleed air.

I hate windshield wipers. I will be glad when they are gone.

However, they will live on in the lyrics of the song "Me and Bobbie McGee".

Every time you use your windshield washer, you coat the windshield with Rain-X.

Once you have a good coating built-up, you only need to use your wipers occasionally, even in a driving rain.

This little ditty from Heywood Banks seems appropriate right now: (I wish I'd replaced my) Wiper Blades.

The "similar system used on fighter jets" is high pressure bleed air from the jet engine's compressor stage blown over the windshield.

Unless McLaren is installing an F119 jet engine, they're going have a hard time pumping enough air to blow the windshield dry on a car.

...the proposed design is understood to center on high-frequency sound waves that effectively create a force field across the windscreen...

Now if they can just focus it to a pinpoint and aim it at the car in front of me...

I just put layers of Saran Wrap on my windshield and tear them off as they get too dirty or wet. Sat in the car once in the winter too long and got freezer burn.

“A force field across the windscreen”
How about a cloaking device? Can you order a cloaking device, too? Oh, those Romulans wouldn’t be trying to transport me up to their ship again if I had a cloaking device and some shields.
