12 tunes--- Neil Young doing them by himself.
please ignore that he is a rich semi-commie eco-flake these days
“I hope Neil Young will remember”....
Neil is an odd duck. At one point he supported Ronald Reagan. He’s inhaled so much grass over the years, he doesn’t know who or what he believes in these days.
I just wish he’d keep his views to himself because he is awesome live.
Southern women agree.
They need to release “Time Fades Away” on dvd.
I’m glad I got in on vinyl many years ago...
IMHO, it’s one of his best live recordings ever.
City in the smog,
City in the smog,
don’t you wish that you could be there too..
Saw him live with Crazy Horse in the 70s, and it was a great show. Cowgirl In the Sand, Down By the River, and Like a Hurricane were the highlights.
Luvd his albums of amplifier feedback. Supreme artistic expression!
I love Neil and have seen him many times. Most of my music is from that genre and I wince when one of them opens their mouths. Sadly, those bands are the kind of music I dig; Neil, Bowie, Dylan, etc. Fortunately, my favorite band, Grateful Dead, refrained from espousing views. Although, on Long Island in '80? '81? Bobby made a comment about remembering Bobby Sands as the band was moving into "He's Gone"..
bump for later....huge fan...
Have seen Neil & Crazy Horse 3 or 4 times live, as well as Neil solo and with other bands and backing musicians. IMHO, Neil’s performances with Crazy Horse are the best.
You’re right, though. They ate all getting long in the tooth. But so am I.
very cool BFL Thank you- I was rocking Live Rust at about volume 11 on the drive back to L.A. from Phoenix today. Just what the doctor ordered. I am also in the beginning pages of his autobiography - he’s a “trippy” guy - I like him - mostly LOL
O. M. G. - my ears are still ringing. Los Lobos was playing that night and said that they had a little surprise - out walks NY and CH. One of the best nights of my life - My gawd I was hammered.
Saw him around 72 or 73 in Orlando. First half of the show was acoustic (and quite good). But the audience was rude and noisy until he and the band went electric.
Even at that age I was embarrassed and annoyed at the rude behavior of the audience.
Great musician in those days. Leftie loon IMO, all played out and stuck in the 60s. You would think after “For What It’s Worth” he would make a connection to the current regime. Nope.
Thanks for the memories. Music from my era.
It’s easy. Political opinions - everyone has one. Talent like Neil and other musicians? Not quite so common. So enjoy and don’t worry about what other people say or think!
