In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

slumgullion \sluhm-GUHL-yuhn, SLUHM-guhl-\, noun
1. a stew of meat, vegetables, potatoes, etc.
2. a beverage made weak or thin, as watery tea, coffee, or the like.
3. the refuse from processing whale carcasses.
4. a reddish, muddy deposit in mining sluices.

Example sentences:
"...d'yever eat good old fashioned slumgullion boy, 'taint nothin but scrambled eggs and potatoes all scrambled up together."
-- Jack Kerouac, The Dharma Bums, 1958

We could not eat the bread or the meat, nor drink the "slumgullion."
-- Mark Twain, Roughing It, 1872

Etymology:
Slumgullion is an Americanism dating back to the 1840s. It is perhaps related to the word cullion, which comes from the Latin term meaning "bag" or "testicle."

The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

The new “habit” of inner-city, hate-filled, socialist young instantly attacking whites as they walk by - spilling their blood in the gutters and streets - is just the latest of the slummullions’ attacks on those who produce by those who have been taught to hate, to consume, and to breed more hatred.

First thing that popped into my mind with this WotD -

“Gollum’s brother from the wrong side of the tracks?”

We needed them to get with the program a year or so earlier.

OBama knew what he was doing with his political implementation deadlines.

i’m trying to recall what i read yesterday, oh i know what it was and will look for it, it was a John Podhoretz column discussing a NYC councilwoman’s “rationale” for the attacks against the Jews in Brooklyn, typical anti-semitic resentment of the JOOOS and their $.

Ah, be careful there! 8<)

Remember, it is her wedding, not yours! (Yes, take the trip - though you "do" have all the reasons and right to be concerned with the planning and preps. )

Tell her - Heck, tell him too! - that you trust them and trust them to do just fine. Then go to HI and be the good mommy we know you are and worry. 8<)

That, or send them to HI and let you do all the worrying in peace without her to distract you.

She is beyond efficient and i have no doubts whose wedding this is. i DO know who is paying for it though, robt, so to that extent i get a say-so on some things. She is cost-conscious and conservative, but it is going to cost a small fortune. They are going to Italy on their honeymoon, so they won’t miss Maui too much. i am inclined to go, and i feel perfectly calm, but i have had several friends go through marrying off their kids within the past few months, and i know there are stresses that will come. The other factor is he has another conference in October in England and i am pressing for that one, instead, so we will see.

Hmmmmn.

Decisions, decisions.

Should Robt try to finagle a ride to HI with xsex to go see the beaches and mountains and views, or go on the trip with xshub to England and get tours of all of the old iron works, canals, bridges, and manufacturing centers?
