FULL TITLE: 'I felt I was on trial for murdering the Beatles': Yoko says fans wrongly convicted her for 40 years

Yoko Ono has told how being blamed for The Beatles’ split made her feel like she was on trial for murder.

She said: ‘It feels like I was accused of something that I didn’t do, which was breaking up The Beatles. It’s like you’re accused of murder and you’re in prison and you can’t get out.’

Since the Fab Four broke up in 1970, Miss Ono has been blamed by many fans for their demise because she was in a relationship with John Lennon.

The couple moved to New York a year later so they could work more closely on the burgeoning peace movement. Lennon was shot dead in 1981.

In an interview with a US magazine, Ono reflected on the years since the band broke and added the allegation left her feeling that she ‘wasn’t valued by people’ and that the only way to cope was to take the hatred directed at her and ‘turn it around into love’.

I teach guitar to little kids. (They LOVE the Beatles, so I use a lot of Beatles songs to teach).

Anyway, just yesterday I was teaching a 9 year old girl how to play “Come Together” and this little girl sang these lyrics:

“He got Ono Sideboard
He one Spinal Cracker”

Then she said, “Does that mean that Yoko was a big useless piece of furniture that took up space in the dining room, and that she broke the back of the Beatles?”

To which I answered: “Yep.”

LOL, I can picture that in my mind! She is a complete nut.

I had a great dream about George Harrison once, I dreamed we were getting married. It was so strange, I never even had a crush on him or anything. But in the dream I knew I was marrying the nicest guy in the whole world. I’ve been very fond of him ever since.

“I think your view on Lennon’s first marriage is a bit naive with regard to Yoko Ono.

Lennon was unfaithful to Cynthia Lennon constantly and consistently well before he ever met Yoko Ono.

These guys literally had a different woman (or more) every night when they were on tour.

He was similarly unfaithful to Ono, but probably not to the same extreme as when he was younger.”

I knew all of that. I was talking not about John but about Yoko.

Of course the skank killed The Beatles. Just look at the CD version of “A Day In The Life” compared to the album version.

I had to rip the CD, cut off her harpy-screeching crap, and burn a new copy.

ESAD, Yoko.

“And Your Bird Can Sing” was a send up of Jagger by John Lennon. It’s a great song...one of their very best...but it still remains that Jagger’s “bird” *could* sing and she was drop dead gorgeous...unlike you-know-who!

Marianne Faithful?

She was the object of the Hollies song “Carrie Ann” but when the writer (I forget which “holly” it was) heard she was dating Jagger, he renamed the girl in the song.

[Weird stuff from Sirius/XM channel 6.]

Moving a bed into Abbey Road studios may have done it.

At least Paulie was sharp enough to push her off onto John Lennon.

Well, when she sings it does sound like bloody murder.

Chuck Berry did a double take when she started to shriek.

And, while I’m at it, Ringo is my fave beatle. And ALL his solo stuff is better than any thing “wings” did.

There I said it again, and when I said it the fist time music afficiando hubby had nothing to say to me.

<><><><><

I totally get it. Ringo sings in a monotone and you are tone deaf. You had to like him best.

Ringo = the luckiest man in rock and roll.

The Rolling Stones sucks. Their deal with Satan was a real bust. Satan could only get crap out of them.

I am no fan of McCartney, a few of his tracks over his solo years are pretty good (Maybe I’m Amazed comes to mind), but Ringo the best solo material. Please.

The Traveling Wilburys are, IMHO, hands down, the best material any of the Beatles put together post break up.

Things are getting a bit recursive. From your YouTube vid comments:

I'm the one donned by the local 'Powers That Be--Family & Friends' of Utica, NY as crazy and targeted because I was a witness to a mob crime and a victim to a mob crime and this one is raking in money selling garbage that should prove art should be removed from the schools, National Endowments for the Arts eliminated, all federal programs for any artistic crap eliminated etc...

And this broad is laughing all the way to the bank! I love some of the comments on Free Republic 'I felt I was on trial for murdering the Beatles': Yoko says.....  http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3097572/posts

Says the guy who has obviously never given a good listen to Exile on Main Street.

Yes, Satanic Majesties Request was a weak and silly response to Sgt Pepper. Couple of decent songs on it though.
