FULL TITLE: 'I felt I was on trial for murdering the Beatles': Yoko says fans wrongly convicted her for 40 years

Yoko Ono has told how being blamed for The Beatles’ split made her feel like she was on trial for murder.

She said: ‘It feels like I was accused of something that I didn’t do, which was breaking up The Beatles. It’s like you’re accused of murder and you’re in prison and you can’t get out.’

Since the Fab Four broke up in 1970, Miss Ono has been blamed by many fans for their demise because she was in a relationship with John Lennon.

The couple moved to New York a year later so they could work more closely on the burgeoning peace movement. Lennon was shot dead in 1981.

In an interview with a US magazine, Ono reflected on the years since the band broke and added the allegation left her feeling that she ‘wasn’t valued by people’ and that the only way to cope was to take the hatred directed at her and ‘turn it around into love’.

Reading responses at You Tube can be detrimental to your health, but if laughter is an elixir, these video comments had it in spades!

Yoko split up Beatles. Who is she kidding.

I like the way she never bat an eye when she crushed Cynthia Lennon’s heart.

Yeah, she’s real innocent.

How about that made for tv movie in which the other 3 Beatles looked like sly, evil creatures and John looked like an Adonis.

Yoko’s input to director.

“John could have had any woman on the planet, and....”

John already had a decent, loving wife and Yoko broke that up. Yes John is 1/2 to blame still I can’t understand same as you.

I like Yoko, she’s a nut, a real New Yorker.

Really? Did you ever have any encounters with her? She is a world class beotch - and that is being kind.

There I said it again, and when I said it the fist time music afficiando hubby had nothing to say to me.

He had nothing to say because there's nothing to say. Your statement is gospel truth. Settled science. Wings (and all of Sir Paul's solo works) royally sucked.

I'll always have a small place in my heart for Yoko, commie that she is. At least she recognized Paul for the rank simpleton that he was.

“I like the way she never bat an eye when she crushed Cynthia Lennon’s heart.”

I was watching a TV program on that once. Cindy was talking about how she walked in her home and found John and Yoko smoking a joint together and Yoko was wearing Cindy’s bathrobe! I’ll never understand why Cindy did not tear off that bathrobe then pull that skank by her hair out of the house and throw her onto the street.

The fact that Ono is an idiot leftist and not a conservative gives me great joy. We have our nuts but Ono as a conservative would make me question things.

The kooks think the Beatles were a psy-op created at the Tavistock Institute, that John was under luciferian mind-control and that Yoko was his handler.

Which makes a hell of a lot more sense than the idea of John finding her attractive.

I swear, here I am all by myself surfing the Internet, and I had to choke back my laughter (somewhat unsuccessfully) to avoid waking my wife up while I watched that video and read the comments!

My buddy and I were in Harvard Square a few years back, and they were having a poetry reading outside near he Au bon Pain. We were waiting for someone, so we listened to a young girl recite her "poetry": (I have to paraphrase, because I don't remember exactly) "...and then he ****** me. He bent me over a table and ****** me again. And then...."

Heh, my buddy turned to me and said "Hey, check out these people!"

They were beatnik wanna-be types, and they were all nodding in approval, one young guy with a black turtleneck and a scruffy goatee was stroking his goatee and nodding in approval with narrowed eyes! We both fell out laughing, it was so ridiculous, it was like a parody...but it wasn't!

When I listened to this video of Yoko Ono that maceman posted at #5, I got the exact same impression from the people who thought it was "art".

I can’t believe people think that’s art! That moaning! A large cattle prod comes to mind. The kind Muldoon had in Jurassic Park. I can hear him now...”SHOOT HER, SHOOT HER”.

She should be on trial for her “music” and her “art.” I listened to her music once. Think sexed up alley cats mixed with a garbage disposal, jet engine from 3 feet away, fingers on a chalkboard... Painful.

I think your view on Lennon’s first marriage is a bit naive with regard to Yoko Ono.

Lennon was unfaithful to Cynthia Lennon constantly and consistently well before he ever met Yoko Ono.

These guys literally had a different woman (or more) every night when they were on tour.

He was similarly unfaithful to Ono, but probably not to the same extreme as when he was younger.
