Next time you go for a checkup, dont be surprised if your doctor gets on your case about your weight.
The medical profession has issued new guidelines for fighting the nations obesity epidemic, and they urge physicians to be a lot more aggressive about helping patients drop those extra pounds.
The good news? By next year, most insurance companies are expected to cover counseling and other obesity treatments, following in the steps of the Medicare program, which began paying for one-on-one help last year.

I agree. There is nothing worse than an obese doctor telling someone they need to watch their weight.
just don’t tell them they have Ghetto Bootie!
He said I know what the problem is. Its ghetto booty, Ragland told WREG in Memphis. I think I blacked out after he said ghetto booty. I think my mind was just stuck on the phrase because I couldnt believe he said that.”
Sweo had diagnosed Ragland with lumbar lordosis, but decided “to take a technical conversation regarding your lower back and make it less technical,” he later wrote her after she had complained to the office manager.
Roux-en-Y anastomosis gastric bypass surgery is free with the Veteran’s dept. hospital system and I’m pondering it. Studies say my diabetes will be cured ON THE TABLE by the operation.
LARDosis?
I’m immune to pontificating on the topic of obesity: I’m a smoker, you see, and there’s not a medical “professional” left who can look past that.
Fat chance.
The idea would be great if doctors had a cure. Otherwise it is just a nag (and an excuse to charge more for medicare).

In my Dr’s office, 19 out of 20 women working there are seriously fat.
I do not think that harassing people about their weight will help. Harassing them makes them stress. Stress makes them eat.
I suspect that part of the obesity problem can be attributed to the obsession with controlling other people’s weight that the country seems to have. It’s a backlash.
If the Feds are concerned about obesity, then why not CANCEL THE FOOD STAMP PROGRAM ?
Since it is a side effect of a significant amount of drugs being prescribed...

it does seem very odd to me that all these programs for alcoholism, and drug addiction and smoking addiction are all paid for....yet, if you’re carrying extra weight, the GUILT that is associated with that, even to the point that the elites categorize your fat as being okay...like fanny fat...or horrid...like belly fat...they’ve got nothing better to do than degrade people a little more...
Interesting. According to this article, under these new guidelines docs are told to send overweight or obese patients heading for cardiac problems to AT LEAST 14 face-to-face counseling sessions within a 6 month period.
The Obamacare site woes are just the tip of the iceberg. We are going to have to fight hard to see a doctor, who will then tell us how to eat and exercise and send us to counseling until we have the obtained the Obama approved BMI.
And after the “14 face-t0-face” time-wasting “counseling sessions,” you will be deemed too fat and too crazy to own a firearm.
I suspect that is where this is heading.
When does Moochelle start HER counseling sessions?
Lordosis. You are thinking of Lardassis
Wouldn’t knocking out or at least cutting back on Food Stamps work better?
Not if your goal is cradle-to-grave socialism.
I remember Rush pointing out (correctly I believe) that the so-called obesity problem is a result of the push to make smokers quit.
Smokers can and do quit, but the desire for that ‘oral fixation’ never goes away. Can’t light up, so they eat.
