While the country is immersed in Obamacare headlines and a congressional tussle over delays and mandates, the Obama administration is stealthily moving toward unprecedented control over private property under a massive expansion of the Environmental Protection Agencys Clean Water Act authority.
The proposed rule, obtained by the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee in advance of EPA Administrator Gina McCarthys testimony at a Thursday oversight hearing, widely broadens the definition of waterways over which the federal government has jurisdiction to as little as a water ditch in a backyard.
The Clean Water Act redefinition of waters of the United States would include all ponds, lakes, wetlands and natural or manmade streams that have any effect on downstream navigable waters whether on public lands or private property.

Isn’t Obala also signing a bunch of baloney exec orders to steal more land for fed gov like Clintoon was doing in the 90’s too...
If you have any water on your property that is not already a legal drain (river, creek, lake, pond, etc.) fill it in. If you do have any of the latter, don’t let beavers, muskrats, or otters to reside in them (you can figure out how to prevent that).
There are liabilities you cannot control anymore. Worse, fighting the EPA is almost impossible.
And Obastard wonders why businesses are leaving the US. What an imbecile.
In many cases (and likely in this instance), EPA and other regulatory bodies will use a real pollution problem as an excuse to adopt regulations that control much broader segments of business and society, including private parties. If there is a pollution problem, say from a pig farm, the states have authority to act under pollution of public waters or something as simple as a public nuisance.
I’ll have to guit peeing in the creek?
AGENDA 21. Herding the people into ‘habitation zones’ while expanding ‘off limits’ zones. Watch for farm bills and other bills which force people out of rural areas and into the suburbs.
Fertilize your lawn? Better not let any of the effluent from the sprinkler system get away. Probably as bad as “if” there is even the possibility of some “escaping”, you’re probably in trouble.
Yep. Sounds like more of Agenda 21’s plan.
The EPA should be disbanded.
Kind of like the “districts” in the Hunger Games is what I’m thinkin’. Where’s Katniss when we need her?
This was not their only hare-brained scheme.
They came up with one idiotic scam after another to seize more and more control. I told them that if they didn't leave me alone, I would have to sell the property and that the only people who would buy it were developers who would destroy the old growth forests, animal habitats, fire lanes, and everything.
These "Environmentalists" didn't care. What they want is control--and to be Big Shots. Such people are basically schoolyard bullies.
They didn't leave me alone.
A group of developers offered me 4 times what I paid for the property (after 5 years).
I sold them the property.
They razed the forest. It's now a huge weed patch.
I'm millions of dollars richer.
I wept when they started cutting down the forest.
This is what the "Environmentalists" accomplished.
Needless to say, I have nothing but contempt for these people.
Glad you made out okay even though it wasn’t what you really wanted. Sounds like you wanted to be a good steward of the land but the dumbasses forced your hand. So they think they got over/won since you sold because of their bullying. What a brilliant bunch. Gang-green.
keep. powder. dry.
this isjust to control all sorts of thigs under color of law. will also only be selectively applied to certain folks.
obama’s gotta go.
yup. that’s what the whole small farm rainwater runoff stuff is about too.
This was happening before Obama.
Yeah, Republicans, Tea Party supporters, and those that don't contribute to Obama and his agenda.
You've got it. And the temperature is turned up slightly while the frogs in the pot remain mostly unaware they're going to be boiled. Incrementalism and distraction. Watch the environmental magicians hard at work.
