Man, do I love that fun infomercial for three hours every day. The one for Rush's book.
I appreciate that. I was speaking from a totally strategic point of view, this is, after all, a war.
No kidding. The reason Rush is on so many stations is simple: He makes them money. If you remove the profit, then you remove Rush. All of these Freepers harping about Rush is troubling. Why are we so eager to kill off one of our own?
Yeah, like have a secret publisher and a ghost writer -- great idea! Rush should never allow his name to be used on any patriotic literature -- because after all, we don't want to offend anyone! Because that wouldn't be prudent!
As it is, Rush will become the center of the controversy there is sure to be. His name will be in the papers and many children will lose out.
Yes, the signatories to the Declaration of Independence could have spared themselves so much pain from their tormenter King George if they had only hidden their real identities! They could have reached so many more people, since their names carried so much baggage! Great idea!
The more you dig, the more I enjoy lampooning your ridiculous willingness to accommodate the left. Here's another idea I'm sure you would endorse -- let's change the name of his show! How about we make YOU the host, since you're so willing to accommodate the left. You could bring in some people in the middle -- you could outlaw the use of "feminazi" and "Dingy Harry" -- after all "are we about Rush or changing the next generation"?
MY post was about the fact that the GATEKEEPERS have an image problem with Rush, that is all
Look in the mirror -- you ARE the gatekeeper.
“...I really do hope that Rush Revere and Liberty and all the characters are some of the tools that end up being used to fight back and reclaim patriotism among the youths of America.”
“I mean, this is the purpose of the book, is to tell them the truth about the founding of their country and to make them proud of it and to counter what they’re being taught, in many cases. And we do it in a positive, fun, storytelling yet educational way: Rush Revere.”
- Rush
Stuns me, and angers me, how when you put forth a different strategy on certain issues, especially related to social issues or related to fighting the GOP estabs, that there’s a group here who assume .not think, not assert, not postulate, but ASSUME with all kinds of righteous anger that you must be some sort of super double secret agent of the Dem Underground or Planned parenthood or Karl Rove’s laboratory.
Just effen unbeliveavble .sometimes a strategy difference is just that, a strategy difference.
The sense of ... DEJA VU ... was very strong.
yeah .I didn’t mention that, but was the same thing ..
Great book, I assume.
Still, lousy radio
.especially to the most loyal listener
.
... and the last thing we conservatives want is for people to succeed in a free enterprise system. Seriously, I am befuddled by all the FReepers who have such deep seated resentment of other people attaining success through their own hard work and innovation. Rush's Two if By Tea is an American success story. His book is also. I'm happy for him.
You are entirely wrong. :)
So no one is allowed to admit that the endless self-promotion gets a bit old? The OP brought up a point with which I agreed. I’d tune in to listen to Rush’s take on the recent events, and find his entire opening segment about his new book. It’s his show, and he can do what he wants, but I am entitled to say that I find these segments tiresome—and change the station until he’s done with it.
wow. you seem to have a lot of pent-up hostility... and not much ability to think critically or engage with others in civil discourse. hope things get better for you.
Strategy, to me, has always been an objective exercise and not some sort of litmus test of beliefs or principles. There are times to stand firm, and those are very important, and other times, to reconnoiter, navigate and penetrate quietly... winning isn’t always BOOM BOOM BOOM.
but you are right, I hadn’t realized so many people here are so cultish about Rush, almost reminds of the obamabots.
I don’t disagree with your views about Rush’s contributions, they are extraordinary and I have taken the time to read and educate myself about them. I listen to his show often. And he is one of the best. But when you get some of the responses I did for merely disagreeing with something he did or how he did it, and not saying anything any negative about the man, there is a problem... cultish is a very apt word.
Liberty-conscious "conservatives" whining about someone selling goods illustrates the sad state of modern discourse....this was my observation...it stands to reason despite the emotionally-based lefty buzzword-laden sermon.
... try winning a tug-of-war standing simply vertical with a modest hold on the rope...liberals and statists are anchored with the spun language that individualism, profit and private property are selfishness and greed.
"Rush doesn't have a right to freedom from criticism. " ...super, somewhat the non-sequitur, not part of the argument, but bravo.
"In short, too [to?] say that conservatism begins and ends with turning a profit by whatever means possible, and the lack of criticism thereof, betrays the most shallow possible understanding of conservatism."
-you've conveniently added the prepositional phrase "by whatever means possible". I guess "by whatever means possible" was supposed to bolster your position....I think that's strawman territory, but instead it further illustrates my point. presuming the profit-seeker is unjust or inherently seedy buys into the language of the Obama "Post-American World" zombie.
You read more like centrist-populist than conservative...and you're not tracking.
Civil discourse? I used humor -- a legitimate tactic -- your condescending remarks are no better than your previous ad hominem attack.
But then your new passive-aggressive 'analysis' approach is all you can come up with. Understood.
and the irony is .those critical of Rush’s use of his show as an infomercail are the real true listeners not cultic, but true blue believers in his message that’s why they were critical in the first place...
you are a really ugly person inside, and I would prefer you didn’t respond to anything I write again.
There you go again with another ad hominem quip .... perhaps it's you that needs to refrain from posting (anything), at least until you complete that anger management class!
Anyway, not a chance. 'From My Cold, Dead Hands'... you can take my keyboard.
And furthermore, I reserve the right to agree with you, and post in defense of your argument, if the situation warrants!
