The workforce is even more stratified by race than you'd imagine. The differences in unemployment rates, participation rates, and average earnings between whites, blacks, and Hispanics aren't just stark. They're also sturdy, rarely yielding over the last 40 years.
The racial gaps are stark at the job level, too.
Whites account for about 81 percent of the workforce. But there are 33 occupations counted by the BLS (particularly those on farms, around heavy machines, in doctor's offices, and in C-suites) where whites officially account for nine in ten of all workers, or more. Here they are.

The blackest jobs in America are playing the part of a victim in a tv commercial: having a tree limb sawed off on top of your car, etc. Another of the whitest jobs is playing the part of the dunce, mindless fool in tv commercials, almost always a white, middle class man.

Years ago there were physical brawls in NYC at construction sites between balcks & Hispanics that knew the contractors had to have a crew that wasn’t more than 49% “white guys”. These groups would try to get “on the job” because they knew they didn’t even have to do anything; the payroll simply had to be 51% “other”. The white guys couldn’t stand them; when I see road crews now they are primarily white & Hispanic, with white ladies waving the traffic flags - no blacks at all.
Electrical Engineer.
I’ve never met a single black person who worked as an electrical engineer. A couple software guys, but not one hardware engineer. And I lived in the middle of Silicon Valley for almost a decade.
When white people can’t find a job, they make their own.
That tends to make them less likely to be unemployed. But Hindi, Persians, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans and Arabs also have similar traits. Why aren’t the Jornolists carping about them?

TOO FUNNY! The guy is usually unshaven and wearing sweats, though; don’t know if he’s “middle class”. Piggybacking on your idea, I’ll submit that movie/TV villains are overwhelmingly honkie men...

There are two networks LMN and Lifetime that specialize in bashing white males. I call LMN Loser Men Network.
They are the gold standard, but it is most networks now. Years ago my wife was annoyed because I set the TV to skip Lifetime if you were flipping through the channels; you could still watch something if you entered the channel number, but if you were simply channel surfing it by-passed it. She didn’t know for months (I wouldn’t marry a woman who even knew what that channel is; my wife is imported from South America); I still laugh when I think about her reaction.

I would like to give you a 45 year observation of how this came about that I often share with my business friends in the construction industry that happen to be ethnic minorities.
In the late sixties and early 70s there was a post civil rights law push to mandate minority hiring and participation percentages in major government funded construction contracts. Even Nixon was giving in to requirements of this sort. The problem was that majority trade unions didn't want to be forced to admit minority members in the percentages required to bring this about — they wanted new members and apprentice admittees to still come from family members and buddies of current members — the traditional entry process of craft workers.
In order to pander to the union pressures, the Democrat congresses of that era came up with a fictional theory of employment diversity forces. They claimed that there were insufficient Minority Owned subcontractors in the various trade markets and that in a proper non-racist liberal world more minority owned subcontractors would hire minorities that would then join unions.
This did a number of things, it allowed politically connected minorities to get into business created by this artificial market. They, of course, had to be union to get on the big government projects so they continued to hire white union members and you would generally see these minority owned firms with no minority employees. It also kept the unions from having to admit minority members.
As I explained to my friends that created such business ventures, the reason they failed to be financially successful was their reliance on this artificial market and the failure to recognize that the new carefully regulated wage and hour guidelines were meant to benefit the unions and not them.
In earlier times, minority firms had minority and family members that would work off-the-clock to help the family business make a job come out. This is how the Swedes dominated mill-work shops, the Italians dominated masonry and painting firms, and Irish were strong in certain other trades. Under the new heavily regulated rules meant to really help unions, the black minority firms were being set up to always be less efficient that larger majority firms, to make less money and be more prone to failure.
My minority business owner acquaintances that took this to heart got out of doing most of their business on government contracts and had a better rate of survival.
Well, did your comments suggest that maybe culture or intelligence might have something to do with whole thing and not nasty, racist whites possibly Klan members? Then you're obviously a nasty, racist, Klan member yourself. (snicker)

FWIW, Bush spoke out against affirmative action, even appointing two straight white guys to the Supreme Court (!).
The other two definitely are the worst offenders; they deserve to watch their female offspring grow up in an increasingly Latino, macho culture. The hand of God works in strange ways...
I remember Vietnam era vets saying that the dogs of Vietnamesse families hated all of our soldiers, white or black. As dogs have a sense of smell that is 2500% better then ours, the pick up the dietary and grooming product differences and see those scented differently from their core “packs” as outsiders.
I read that Woody Allen said, “80% of success is just showing up”. You have to start somewhere and showing up on time and eagerly soaking up as much knowledge from the old timers as you can is *easy*. You just have to want to do it. Then you are well on your way.
All I see from the report is that for some unquantified reason, minorities in general either aren’t interested or can’t be bothered to make a long-term commitment towards a skill, trade or craft.
The question to ask is NOT, “why is there a racial disparity in those jobs” but rather, “why are minorities not choosing to make a long-term commitment towards one of those careers?” I suspect the truth would likely be very painful to the race-hustlers.
