God “absolutely” approves of everyone — including homosexuals — declared one of America’s most well-known evangelical pastors
The Houston megapastor and best-selling author Joel Osteen, whose followers include the likes of Cher and Oprah Winfrey, is hitting the talk-show circuit to promote his new book, “Break Out!
HuffPo Live host Josh Zepps quoted from Osteen’s new book: “It doesn’t matter who likes you or who doesn’t like you, all that matters is God likes you. He accepts you, he approves of you.”
Zepps followed up by asking if that included homosexuals.
“Absolutely,” Osteen insisted, “I believe that God has breathed his life into every single person. We’re all on a journey. Nobody’s perfect.”

Then neither do I condemn you, Jesus declared. Go now and leave your life of sin.
You’re right, and now those that don’t celebrate homosexual sin will suffer.
Ultimately I think they’ll go after the tax exemptions of churches over this.
only difference is that I’m not seeing groups of sinners band together and force their “lifestyle” on everyone.
At least not to the degree of gays. Not aware of an extremely powerful lobby for shoplifters, strong arm robbers (oh wait maybe the NAACP), rapists, etc.
Puke.
I am stunned and surprised that he did not come out of the closet.
The 10 commandments were for a people, the Jews, who were already trying to follow some sort of pious life.
My take on it is entirely different. It’s that homosexual acts were not so common, and were universally understood to be extremely evil, just like bestiality, or pedophilia, which also are not among the 10 commandments. And they certainly weren’t considered minor. Hey, cannibalism, torture and kidnapping aren’t up there, either.
God truly loves each one of us and desires that we should be saved. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, the church must at all times hold it’s doors open for the sinner and that includes every kind of sinner. However, the church must never ever compromise on what sin is and it must require that we turn from our sins and embrace what is Holy.
Too often we focus on the “big” sins, they are easy to point the finger at because they are so obvious. Meanwhile the “small” sins go unchecked and the church rots from the inside out.
Too many have decided it’s easier to redefine God into an entity that fits their needs than to do the hard work that requires them to change who we are. We are in a season of Christian churches embracing doctrines with the soul purpose of building their treasure on Earth. But this is only a season and this will not stand forever.
Some people just have gay people on their minds 24/7. I mean, the only time I think about gay people is when I see an article of FR.
I wish they would put half that energy into people having sex before marriage and then maybe the US would stop being so morally bankrupt.
Waaaaay more people are having sex before marriage than gay sex, and it’s effects are destroying America more.
I would see him occasionally on Sun. morning TV and while I agree with you, he sounds more like a motivational speaker in an alleged church setting......
I have no idea whether Joel Osteen is gay. I don't know much about him and I've never even heard him talk. But I have noticed two things:
1. There is a subgroup of gay males who are identifiable by their facial features, which are of definitely superior attractiveness, yet in a way that seems odd in a man.
2. Every single Joel Osteen book has a picture of him on the cover. It's clear that his face is being used to sell books.
