Can’t be in sin, and in the presence of God. Can’t

Osteen will say whatever itching ears want to hear — he has an expensive house and trophy wife to maintain.

Unless you accidently comment in the Catholic Caucus thread, then you will receive eternal damnation.

That makes sense. I think they receive an indulgence when they "accidentally" comment in a Protestant Caucus thread.

Not all trophies are awards for first place, you know.

Joel Osteen’s theological credentials are what?

One semester of TV Production at Oral Roberts University?

I know I am biased by the Presbyterian Church’s insistence on over-educated pastors, but I would not go to him for interpretation or history of Bible teachings.

Jude 1:20-23

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Be merciful to those who doubt; save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

And in Romans, Paul indicates that homosexuality is a sign of rejection of God. How could one who has rejected God, lest they be under conviction toward repentance, want to be part of the church? The obvious answer is that they are there to destroy the church, not to strengthen it or seek reconciliation with God.

I don’t disagree with you, but your post has nothing to do with my post.

Kind of libertarian there, not taking a stand on anything.

Any pastor/priest that does not talk about the good and the bad in the Bible is doing nobody a service and not worth listening to.

Some photos, she looks like Kirstey Alley when young.

And no offense meant to anyone, but exposed gums in a smile turns me off.

I have watched him a few times.

NEVER heard him preaching the Gospel.

Lost interest.

Gays are some of the nicest, kindest, most loving people in the world.

Megachurch pastor pandering again.

Aren't stereotypes to be avoided in this PC age?

Heck, we already knew that. I do not understand why anyone follows his teaching.

Joel may be a popular preacher but he's a capitalist too, I see.

Has he ever mentioned what he's doing with the proceeds from his book sales?

Who who knows Joel Osteen and what he says, is truly surprised by this?

I certainly am not. Osteen is a damn charlatan. A fraud. A wolf in sheeps clothing. He’s in the Preachertainment business.

When one recognizes he’s never had any serious study of the bible at all, you understand why he never wants to get very deep in his answers or discussions about ANYTHING.

Just chalk up another unbiblical thing out of his mouth. I hope people’s eyes are opening up about him.

It is worse than others.

It is because it’s not only a perversion of sex outside of marriage, it’s worse because it rejects the natural order God instituted between men and women.

It is also worse because the people committing this sin believe they ARE NOT sinning to the point they are callign those who say it’s sin, EVIL and try to FORCE THEM to not only tolerate it, but be approving of it. To the point they try to get government to enforce thsi on those saying it’s sin.

What other sin out there is celebrated as much? Not adultery. There’s no Adultery Pride day, no Adultery Month, no flag for adulterers, there’s no Fornicator Pride week anywhere. There’s no Bring your Thief to work day. There’s no Abusive Spouse of the Year award. There’s no “I have the most babies from the most different dads” contest out there.

We don’t celebrate sin. Except homosexuality. THAT makes it different and worse. It’s worse because society tolerates and promotes it and persecutes people who are opposed to it if they speak the truth about it.

THAT’s why.

Agreed. Everything I need to know about how Jesus would have treated a homosexual is in John 8. The problem with homosexuals is that they don’t accept that they are living a “life of sin.” In other words, they are not willing to serve God, they want a God that suits them.

The problem is that many Christians today are really good at the "love the Sinner" part, but come up short on the the other side of the equation, the "hate the sin". In fact, many churches have become more about "love the sinner and accept the sin" on issues such as homosexuality. Which is a slippery slope indeed, and in the end harms both the Church and the Sinners.
