While I have not been in America for almost ten years, I do watch American TV via my G-sat. My most popular channel is the History Channel. What shocks and amazes me is that most all of the women on all of the programs are slathered with Tattoos. Is this a new phenomena in America? Have women degraded themselves to such an extent? Some may think it cool. I think it is disgusting.
I think it’s cultural. Even my 27-YO daughter has one on her ankle, a butterfly. She tried to hide it from me. I don’t like it at all.

Look at most any reality show on the History channel.
Both men and women have them all over their bodies.
“The Pickers” is one. The girl that sends them out to buy junk has them all over her body. “Kings of Restoration” is another.
Every program has women/girls with tattoos all over. When I say “all over” I mean they are like murals painted on their bodies.
“It’s gonna be really nasty a few decades from now when there’ll be tatted up old ladies everywhere.”
Lordy that’s a nasty thought. Walmartians with tramp stamps are already bad enough.

I think my daughter, now 30, has the same thing.
That is OK, but having one’s entire body covered is disgusting.

It’s all part of the “gansta” aka prison culture. The tattoos, although chosen by the user, really symbolize ownership into a gang, etc. We all know that slaves throughout the centuries and cattle were and still are tattooed/branded to indicate ownership.
I’m early fifties and I think that it is just awful seeing all these young people mess up their skin like that, As for gauging aka earlobe stretching, these youngsters don’t realize that your earlobes start to get longer as you age. It’s just going to make them look way older as they age.
I made this argument to a late twenty/early thirties woman and of course, she totally disagreed.
I don’t know where you live....but I live in a conservative, very conservative area....and I have seen ‘slathered’ in the grocery stores and around town.
I’m not turned on by inked-up women.

I’m amazed at the athletes slathered with them, baseball and football. Some of these people seem to try to be the most outrageous or something. And I hate all the spitting...geez.
Actually tattoos on women save good men a lot of time and trouble. Its like stamping “Next” on them. Nothing says “whore” like a good tramp stamp...: )

that was a strange movie. the buzz around it was, cough, the stars were actually performing the sex act instead of “acting” it.
I live in flyover country. The number of young woman with tattoos have increased substantially over the last 5 to 10 years. Walmart in the summer time should give you the best viewing opportunity.
