I think it’s cultural. Even my 27-YO daughter has one on her ankle, a butterfly. She tried to hide it from me. I don’t like it at all.

I think my daughter, now 30, has the same thing.
That is OK, but having one’s entire body covered is disgusting.

It’s all part of the “gansta” aka prison culture. The tattoos, although chosen by the user, really symbolize ownership into a gang, etc. We all know that slaves throughout the centuries and cattle were and still are tattooed/branded to indicate ownership.

I’m early fifties and I think that it is just awful seeing all these young people mess up their skin like that, As for gauging aka earlobe stretching, these youngsters don’t realize that your earlobes start to get longer as you age. It’s just going to make them look way older as they age.

I made this argument to a late twenty/early thirties woman and of course, she totally disagreed.
