Last fall, an expressway in my city was shut down for several hours because a cattle truck had overturned. The cattle had escaped and were roaming across the highway. Seeing this news story about stray cattle made me think of something I had recently studied in Exodus 32 about the people of God who strayed from Him.
In the divided kingdom of ancient Israel, King Jeroboam erected two golden calves for the people to worship (1 Kings 12:25-32). But the idea of worshiping hunks of gold had not originated with him. Even after escaping brutal slavery and having seen the Lords power and glory mightily displayed, the Israelites had quickly allowed their hearts to stray from Him (Ex. 32). While Moses was on Mt. Sinai receiving the law from the Lord, his brother Aaron helped Gods people stray by constructing an idol in the shape of a golden calf. The writer of Hebrews reminds us of Gods anger over this idolatry and those who go astray in their heart (Heb. 3:10).
God knows that our hearts have a tendency to stray. His Word makes it clear that He is the Lord and that we are to worship no other gods (Ex. 20:2-6).
The Lord is the great God, and the great King above all gods (Ps. 95:3). He is the one true God!
Read: Exodus 32:21-35
;o) Better late than ..

Biker Church has had to change location so I have to go now!
(Sound setup & rehearsal B$ service begins)
Love you are doing this..Have a great service.
Thank you Meg for being here everyday with your wonderful graphics. It is definitely fall up here.
I have missed days lately! Allergies had me down.
Still seeing lots of green in the woods behind me..It’s a nippy 39 right now so color will come.
I was washing sliding doors yesterday in 60s temps...and thanking God I felt like geeting er done.
New York provides many of my prettiest fall color graphics..
NY is a beautiful state, it’s the politics that are all screwed up. I have driven every corner of it and found some spectacular sights.
Allergies have been terrible this year all over, I sympathize with you.
Thank you, Rus..My helper couldn’t come Friday because he was sick with allergies.
I travel by internet now..and indeed NY is a beautiful state..The politics ..My sympathies.
It took me awhile to find him. I was ready to hit post and then he popped right out; so had to add to my post and do another preview. LOL
I have an idea for tomorrow, but how about next Monday?
Thank you, Kitty. That is a sweet goodnight wish.
Wishing you a Blessed Sunday.
The Venue that we were using closed under unpleasant circumstances. We were not sure if we could even continue the ministry, but an Motorcycle Club offered us the use of their CLUBHOUSE on Sunday mornings. It was great today. One of the Bikers had his harmonica with him, and I handed him a microphone and he joined the band.
(And this is NOT a “Goody Two Shoes” Club either.)
I am so happy you all found a nice new Biker Church home..I assume this one is safer when it rains, too.
;o)
I was up too early..Time for lunch and a nap.
I found the mystery cat!
LOL
I’ll bet you found him sooner than I did! Now my eyes zero in on him whenever I open the graphic.
Not this week..but thank you.
Been ailing with allergies so this is my first day since Wednesday..Got a break yesterday and cleaned sliding doors..so I could see out.
;o)
Thank you for the sweet graphic..Amen
LOL you remembered about the GREAT TARP INCIDENT!
Both the pavilion and the sound stage have corrugated metal roofs! Hallelujah!
Welcome to Amy’s Place, TOL. You have been added to my ping list.
Looking forward to seeing you here. Hope you share some of your poetry.
I started college as a English major specializing in Poetry and Creative Writing.
I graduated as a Computer Programming major.
It was easier to be a programmer because I didn’t have to wait to get dumped by a girl to write a COBOL program.
Hope you are doing well.
