WE ARE BEING PLAYED
vanity rant | September 29, 2013 | Lancey Howard

Posted on 09/29/2013 12:57:58 PM PDT by Lancey Howard

The Republicans are colluding with the Democrats to “delay” Obamacare until January 2015 and thereby give the Obama regime a chance to smooth out the wrinkles so it “works right”. The delay will also keep the issue from hurting the rats too much during the coming year's 2014 mid-term election campaign.

Do some people actually believe that a "delay" is in any way a "win" for Republicans?

In return for giving the rats another year-plus to deepen the roots of their communist healthcare and get it working smoother, the Republicans will cave on the debt ceiling. What a deal.

Wow, are we ever being played.

You’ll get no argument from me.How could we have good Repub representation for the last 59 years and still see every one of the 1954 communist goals (in the Congressional record) realized?

Right on.

That’s because both Dems and Pubbies are collectivists. Collectivism only benefits the rich and the poor which those two parties represent.

The rest? BOHICA!

Betting that something bad will bring something better is a dangerous strategy. It can de-motivate people from taking action against bad things by letting them rationalize the consequences. And sometimes — often — the bad thing that happens stays with us for a long, long time.

Better to fight the bad things than to suffer them passively and convince yourself that they will lead to a better result as people wake up.

"We" -- meaning the GOP -- are not being played. The Republicans are all-in on everything the administration is doing. The GOP wants more socialism, and greater fascist controls on Americans.

Neither are "we" -- meaning the informed citizens of America -- being played, because we see what's happening.

I’m OK with a delay of a year, but they are jumping to that as a fallback way too early in the game. A delay will get us to next year’s elections without letting this monster get its tentacles into us. Take it to the people, gain in the House and the Senate, then send Obama a full repeal as the first option for any spending in 2015. Keep the pressure on, and if there is any compromise at that point, it is for a full defunding for an additional 2 year, to 2017. Obama will have to sign that to get any other spending. Then take it to the Presidential election and see who wins. We lose that one, and we are pretty much done as a country.

I just posted the following in a related thread concerning DC Obamacare follies.

Regarding the smoke-and-mirrors that we’re getting from DC concerning Obamacare, please consider the following. I don’t know if this is possible in the 2014 election cycle, but as I’ve mentioned in related threads, if patriots can get off of their couches on election day and elect 2/3 majority conservatives in both Houses of Congress then we’ll have the following situtation.

Conservative supermajority control of Congress will give Congress the power, under the Constitution’s Clause 2 of Section 7 of Article I, to override presidential vetoes. So Congress could have the power to repeal constitutionally indefensible Obamacare after 2014 elections without Obama’s signature if patriots can get their acts together before that time.

I care if I win. And Obamacare coming in a year still means I lose.

Ditto.

Senator Cruz's argument, as told to Alex Pappas, of the Daily Caller August 15:

Fighting this fight won’t be easy, but it’s now or never. President Obama’s strategy is simple: on January 1, the subsidies kick in. President Obama wants to get as many Americans addicted to the subsidies because he knows that in modern times, no major entitlement has ever been implemented and then unwound. That’s why the administration announced that it won’t enforce eligibility requirements–essentially encouraging fraud and “liar loans”–because that way the most people possible will get addicted to the sugar.
...
While the ultimate goal is to repeal the law in its entirety, defunding is a crucial step so we can stop the law from being implemented before Americans get hooked on the subsidies.

Your argument: The Donkees are fixing to hang themselves with ObamaCare, so why delay the rope? Plus, the folks who will get the subsidies are mostly 'Rat voters anyway.

The fact is, ObamaCare has already done a lot of damage just by being in the offing. If we manage to get it postponed a year, it will still be in the offing and will continue to harm the economy and the finances of individual voters.

Moreover, a year from now, the 2014 elections will be front and center. And that's an ideal environment for there to be impending totalitarian doom without any benefits yet delivered.

Delaying 0bamaCare for a year IS suffering it passively. And worse.

My point is that this strategery on the part of GOPe is not new.

(I never look at the posting category, but note that many attempt to police such things. I wuz being mostly sarcastic and parroting that which I've seen noted many times before.)

Since idiot Rove is the one pushing the delay, I immediately reject it.

I know, it didn’t require much thought on my part, that is how much I detest and distrust the hairless little toad.

Democrats were the first to suggest a year's delay two or three months ago IIRC.
All the more reason to be suspicious of it.

You let it's tentacles latch on and it will be there for good just like every other socialist idea that's been implemented.

As Ted Cruz said on the news shows today the Republicans are compromising and Dingy Harry is an absolutist. He hit the mark time and again by pointing out that Reid is forcing a shut down by refusing to compromise.

a delay past the 2014 elections is a huge win for rats..

This needs to hit people BEFORE the 2014 elections. like in October if it’s gonna hit at all.

Can we repeal Medicaid, Social Security, Medicare, Welfare? No? Obamacare would be the same. ANY implementation and it’s over.
