Yesterday many of us participated in a thread entitled "I miss America when it was Decent and Good." Many of us shared our memories and there were some wonderful stories.
Today, someone posts that "elderly kooky types" "infest FR" and "go on and on about their grandchildren and what a great president Eisenhower was."
Just for kicks (see I'm dating myself already), how many FReepers are "elderly kooky types?"

I’m old enough to have voted for Barry Goldwater the last time he ran for Senate. If good ol’ Christian American values are “kooky”, count me in because I sure don’t want to be a part of this modern Miley Cyrus culture.

I am going to cry. I am 89 and want to be trusted. I think it should be "Don't trust any one under 21"
Have a wonderful day and the very best to you and yours.

Walking home from my school (4th grade) I would take a poll of cars with Goldwater bumper stickers and those with Johnson stickers. My polls indicated a Goldwater win but I did not realize the my Nashville neighborhood was not a bell weather precinct for the nation.
Looking at my profile one can see I'm a fuddy duddy even though my own pic isn't on it. I still skateboard though (Started with a Nash Sidewalk Skateboard in the pre-polyurethan era).

I’m only 34. My first vote was for Ross Perot in 96, because, well, it seemed like a good idea at the time. Dole wasn’t gonna win, so I took a shot on the crazy guy.

Thank you for your service.
I was just kidding about the over 80 part... I think it was Bill Ayres (puke be upon him) that coined the term “never trust anyone over 30.” It was a real Alinsky moment for him: divide and conquer (parents vs. children).

Born during the Truman administration, way back when people were still decent. I’d hate to be a kid these days.
