It has a number of names: Disobedience, selfishness, demographics, it all adds up to the next generation paying the price for your lifestyle. God help us? Not likely!

...and when I say your lifestyle, it is general, not specific.

And because of women like her we have illegal immigrants flooding into this country doing the work she wouldn’t do.

I think it's helpful when people know the future will be better without more people like them. For example, people like the writers and readers of Time.

it's a blessing these types of people do not have children because they would not be fit parents if they did...

I would not want a life without children. I would have done anything to be a mother. It was my number one goal since my own childhood. And it’s true: it is the most fulfilling, satisfying thing in life to me. I fought infertility and won. It isn’t everything but to me, parenthood nearly is everything.

IMHO, if you don’t want children then fine. However, don’t plan on changing your mind when you hit 40 something. I use to work with a woman who had about four abortions. One was done very quickly because she and her husband were going on a cruise. Didn’t want morning sickness to mess that up. Long story short, she hit forty something and lo and behold.. she suddenly wanted a child. She had taken her cruises and vacations.. she had her big home, she had it decorated beautifully, she had her job/career but yet... something was missing. The whole in vitro process began and she was a complete nut job each month when she wasn’t pregnant with the now supposedly desperately wanted child. So.. like I said... if you don’t want one then fine. However, don’t think that you can suddenly change your mind later and you will get your wish.

Being childless and happy is fine. Whatever works for you. However, cultures and societies need to embrace growth of families in order to survive.

Rabbits don’t care for their offspring much emotionally. In Evolutionary Ecology, it is called low-investment, single-parenting, and it exists as a way to maximize offspring production, along with fleeing from danger, promiscuity, earlier sexualization of young, and selfishness/lack of loyalty.

It is all part of the r-selected reproductive strategy, which is designed to exploit resource gluts by hedonistically producing as many offspring as possible, as fast as possible, to out-reproduce everyone else.

Here, the intellectual ability to enjoy the promiscuity, and reduce parental investment to zero with birth control and abortion is going to gradually eliminate any Liberal who can actually plan ahead and use birth control. In a hundred years, most Liberals will basically be Rachael Jeantel, since that is all this new selective pressure will leave behind.

Liberals hate to think that all that they stand for is just a bunch of urges which emerge to exploit our present resource glut, but that is all the entire ideology is.

They are the rabbit people in our species.

It shouldn't surprise anybody that there are people who don't want children - or to serve their country in uniform - or anything else that requires dedication and sacrifice. We have the spectacle of the 60s and 70s' "me generation" and it would follow that a large portion of our country is checking out and conducting "autogenocide".

I tend to agree with earlier posters that maybe it's a blessing that the terminally self-centered don't want kids. But it is sad that some of these people are nominally intelligent and otherwise productive - while the nonproductive and unintelligent seem to be exuberantly fertile. The formula for the end of our society, n'est-ce pas?

Between the gays and the selfish non-parents, a lot of dead branches on those family trees.

There have always been people who don’t want to have kids. Unfortunately, most did not figure it out until they had a few.

My decision came in the fifth grade. Reinforced in junior/high School. Nothing is ‘forever’ and though this country and way of life has lasted over 100 years, even 60+ years ago it was thought that changes were occurring (even to a child no more than 12 years old)

To bring another being into a world gone mad was never an option. To be responsible for doing was not considered lightly. Regrets, none thus far My siblings children are enough for me at this time Selfish....hardly!

One evening when she was 14 years old, Laura Scott was washing dishes in the kitchen with her mother when she decided she didn't want to have a child. At 26, Scott got married and waited for her mind to change. "It never happened," she says. "And I realized I was going to be fine." Now 50, Scott is more than fine: she's fulfilled.

Fine. Some niece or nephew, or random stranger, will be stuck with burying her and dealing with the estate.

Go ahead and breed yourselves out of existence, libs. Meanwhile, conservatives like my wife and I, have produced four American patriots who are going to take this country back from your spawn.

Oh wait......that’s right.....you’re not having any offspring, are you?

Even better.

Our first foster daughter (age 14 at the time) made it very clear that she wanted to get pregnant as soon as possible so she could collect welfare like her 18 year old sister and live off the government.

3 years later my wife saw her at the local grocery pushing a stroller and buying pampers.

IMNHO this child should never have been raising children.
