So why would Trayvon attack someone he assumed was security? Because Zimmerman had reported two kids peering into the windows of homes. And there was a break in and police arrested one of the kids and found a stolen laptop in the kid's backpack. Zimmerman identified the kid as one of the two peering into windows.
What are the odds that Trayvon didn't know that a young black kids had just been busted for theft of a laptop? What are the odds that Trayvon didn't know that the neighborhood watch captain had helped finger the kid? What are the odds that Trayvon either knew the kid or knew the kid's older siblings?
When Trayvon walked by Zimmerman's car and locked eyes with him, he was sizing him up. Trayvon then proceeded to act suspiciously to draw Zimmerman's attention, and then got out of sight and set up the ambush. When Zimmerman got out of the car, he fell into Trayvon's trap and Trayvon attacked him.
Jeantel has said Trayvon thought Zimmerman was security. Keep questioning her until she spills the whole story.
That makes sense. That explains the t-shirts too.
I don't think trayvon would have known about it. The gated community was only a place he was visiting. He was the "new kid in town" there from 200 miles away.
Mr Zimmerman's composure may have given trayvon the impression of being security... or some gay dude stalking him.
Although trayvon may have considered breaking into a home to get some cough syrup, he was more concerned about his posterior when he saw Mr Zimmerman.

How about a reality check instead of wild speculation?
Trayvon’s home of record was Miami some 200 miles to the south. That’s 3 plus hours driving time. Additionally Trayvon’s school of record, also in Miami, had recently expelled him, for the third time.
Trayvon was in Stanford because his own mother had kicked her juvenile son out of her home for constantly fighting.
All of these established facts happened a few days (weeks?) prior to Trayvon’s encounter with George Z.
So a simple question - how could a total stranger know what had happened in Stanford weeks (month’s?) prior to his arrival.
Stop trying to justify what Trayvon did. It was an act of violence because he felt he had been ‘disd by George and, unfortunately, in his subculture the violent response was totally acceptable.

When Mark Fuhrman lied about using the N word in the Simpson case it was a huge deal. The case died and he was convicted of a felony. Rachel admittedly lies under oath and it is no big deal. Even the defense did not make a big deal over her lying. And she said she lied because Sabrina Fulton was present. Guess what, Sabrina was there when she testified in court.
NBA or NFL prospect?
Interesting theory, no more far fetched than the prosecution’s cas.

Apparently, the break-in happened in August, 2011, so I guess it wasn’t Trayvon, unless he was visiting. In August, he would have been on summer vacation, so he wouldn’t have been involved with his academic pursuits.
I wonder when Daddy Martin’s GF moved in there?
Aside from homicide crimes, duress is normally an available defense; so prosecuting Jeantel wouldn’t get a conviction, and be a waste of prosecutorial resources.
