Now that he has successfully defended himself from criminal charges brought against him by the state of Florida for the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman is going to resume a lawsuit he filed several months earlier against NBC News.
Launched in the midst of the state prosecution against him by a separate civil team, the lawsuit is a defamation claim alleging that NBC deliberately altered an audio recording so as to make Zimmerman appear to be racist.

I hope he destroys NBC completely.
The standard of proof is "the preponderance of the evidence," not reasonable doubt. What possible reason could NBC have had for that edit if not to create a narrative of racism?
Besides, it will never get to trial, because NBC will settle.

The “intent” was profit and TV ratings, so I am not sure NBC can do much on that front anyway.
Proving “Malice” is only required for public officials or public figures in libel and slander cases. Zimmerman was NOT a “public figure” until the dishonest media, and Obama, made him “public”.
So they unintentionally edited out the dispatcher asking him the race of the subject?
They had the support of the White House.

Hell, Go after ALL the MEDIA, and the MARTIN family, who provided/posted the picture of what the six year old son of the president would look like as part of the race baiting.
Then go after the race baiters Sharpton and Jackson who knew the facts and ignored them to make Zim the evil shooter!
Hope he gets rid of his lead attorney (Mark O’Mara), though. The guy was not a fierce advocate.
A lible case- has to show intent. He was a ‘public figure’ at the time too I believe.
But you’re right they’ll settle for a mil or so.
One could say that they turned him in to a “public figure” through their misconduct.
He has a different attorney for his NBC suit. A guy named James Beasley.
Be nice if he ripped them so bad it became ZBC.
It’s well past time to declare war on the media, because they’re warring against us, 24/7.
NBC will probably want to settle out of court and with each party having to remain silent as part of the agreement. We shall see which way it goes.

Not just the networks.. the prosecution lied every minute of every day knowing that the evidence they fought to exclude directly contradicted their statements.
