My truck, which was a gift from a late FReeper at the behest of his widow, has no A/C. It’s not that it doesn’t work: It wasn’t installed.
I am doing what I can to make my drives “pleasant,” but at the moment, it means going in the early morning when the temps are still in the low 80’s.
COLD TEA! Yes! It is refreshing and it it not carbonated, and I can drink it as often as I can drink it hot.
When I become independantly wealthy, I will get the windows tinted to block the UV rays, and will try try to use some other “backwoods” measures to cool off the interior on a long (bi-state) drive.
Until then, I regulate my forays to the early (barely light) hours of the day, providing the stores I need are open. Otherwise, I order things online and let UPS, FedEx or the USPS deliver the stuff in the heat. They get paid for that. I don’t.

Just one problem: when I wear a big, floppy-brimmed hat, I look like an escaped abalone. Short, chunky people look odd in those things. Of course, I could always put big sunglasses on, but then I’d look like a bug.

Most definitely.
The majority of people go through their entire lives without taking their first toddling steps into maturity.

The Movie Reviews
"Snitch" with Dwayne Johnson, Barry Pepper, Jon Bernthal, Michael Kenneth Williams, Melina
Kanakaredes, Nadine Velazquez, Rafi Gavron, David Harbour, Benjamin Bratt, Susan Sarandon
2013, Rated PG-13, 112 minutes
John Matthews (Johnson) owns a trucking company, and he's a bit strapped for cash. His son gets
caught with drugs that a friend sent to him, even though the boy told his "friend" not to send them.
Because of the draconian sentencing laws for drug possession (true story), the boy is facing a 10
to 30 year sentence if he doesn't set up his friends the way he was entrapped. He refuses. A slimy
fed, (Sarandon) manipulates Matthews into infiltrating a local drug gang, but it has dealings with a
large Mexican cartel, so risking Matthews's life, she goes for the bigger prize. He agrees in order
to save his son from federal prison. Although a bit far fetched, it had plenty of action and intrigue.
★★★
"Into the White" with Florian Lukas, David Kross, Stig Henrik Hoff, Lachlan Nieboer, Rupert
Grint, Morten Faldaas
2012, Rated R for language, 100 minutes, Inspired by a true World War II story
A British plane and a German plane shoot each other down over Norway. The survivors, two
Brits and three Germans, find the same remote cabin and settle in there in hopes of surviving the
brutal winter weather. Their relationship is tense at best as the Germans insist that the Brits are
their prisoners of war, but as they all realize that their survival depends upon their cooperating
with each other, they all discover things to like and admire about their "enemy." It was very good.
★★★★

Why is he in Krautish uniform? Shouldn’t that have been Viktor Krum?

Good morning.
I’d love to know how people get that kind of cat picture. The photographers must follow cats around with their cameras for hours and hours before they get a little gem like that one.
That’s really cute, and its theme is a lot like the story in “Snitch.”
Good job, T-c!
