Don't kick a man while he's down. When an Intel employee sought help in removing a "Kick Me" sign from his back, he was kicked three times by a co-worker. That co-worker and another who joined in the kicking later lost their jobs because of the prank.
Intel workers secretly taped a "Kick Me" sign to the back of a co-worker as a prank, then kicked the confused man a number of times as employees at the Rio Rancho Intel plant laughed hysterically at the episode, according to a federal lawsuit.

No telling why a guy like that got tagged with a ‘kick me’ sign. Seems like a real man’s-man.

It’s not at all funny, but a federal lawsuit? C’mon, already!
A confused intel worker...That doesn’t sound good.
Most office workers would never survive the type of shenanigans that goes on in a manufacturing plant.
Kick me, Pank me, call me Edna...
A good rule of thumb over the last 20 years in the changing PC workplace, KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOURSELF. Simple, I don’t touch anyone for any reason, ever. I very rarely talk outside of strictly business needs. I haven’t had a “friend” at work since 1996 or so.
I was going to ask what a pank was but I realized this is series.
Sad but true. Don't trust anyone and keep to yourself. It's even worse if you have to manage others.
So let’s sue the deep pockets.
Truth is I NEVER had a ‘friend’ at work. Work is work. I do not socialize there (and never have). Those who want friendship should ask someone to coffee after the work day is over. That keeps it simple
The article, actually, offers a plausible explanation:
In addition, Palacio said co-workers would hide his work uniform and filled his work bag with trash. He claims the abuse he faced over a few months was racially motivated because he's Filipino.
I don't know how much racism was involved here, but he certainly was ostracized. One doesn't need to be of a different race for that to happen.
Filing a lawsuit is certainly the right thing to do, here and now. Perhaps a century or two ago this could have been sorted out differently, but times have changed and duels are no longer socially acceptable. There is nothing else he could have done and kept his job, since the bullies were intent on keeping torturing him just for free entertainment. You will seldom find intellectual giants working jobs of those guys.
This guy would never survive where I work..
Nerd humor
“What do want to do, make a federal case out of it?!!” Never to be said in jest these days.
Sounds like the guy has a “chip” on his shoulder since he was “booted” a number of times and had a “hard drive” home.
I tend to approach work the same way. It's all business, i.e. trying best to apply and better myself in the interest of serving my employer. With all the PC crap these says, however, I often envision doing something outrageous, like pinning a lone, little patch on my otherwise impeccably clean cubicle walls:
