What Happened When The Mods Pulled My Post?
About a quart of Gin ^ | April 9 2013 | A Demented Mind

I just spent alot of time posting!

I see that, looks like you hit a small bump.

Pictured: Small Bump

What happened?
Well, someone set up us the bomb?
I'm serious!
Oh, well.. looks like your post got pulled.

Augh! I spent alot of effort on that! How did it happen?!
Couldn't be because you were doing it wrong?
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

What the, how'd you get that video of m-- uh.. I don't even wear that!
Right Skippy. *cough* Well, since you asked, here's how posts get removed.
First, if it is against TOS it gets seen.

Then it gets marked.

Okay, I have that much.
Then the mods gather:

Pictured, mods gathering.

I don't think that's how it looks, I..
Look, do you want an answer or not?
...Yes?
Right, carrying on.
Then they back their vehicle up to your post.

Whoah! What the heck is that thing?!
It's a machine, that eats other machines.
With this:

I don't see what this has to do with my post vanishing, can you tell me wha-
Watch it question boy! I have a flamethrower!

You want to vanish like your dog did?

What the?! No, not Roozer too!
To be fair, your dog WAS drunk.
What?! Who would even... please don't point that flamethrower at me.
Right, and after they saw your post off the entire forum, they set it on fire.

Wait.. that man. His face, and fire! Oh GOD WHY?!
Oh, HIS post was all about his face, so the mods set it on fire.
After that, they used the ashes to open a gate between our world and theirs, like this:

BLECH! That's horrible!
And those tentacles! GAAAH!

If you think that's bad, you should see what happens when the mods get their hands on a bad thread.

Pictured: Mod hands

Oh look, here comes a mod now.
Looks like they want to ask you about that thread you just posted.

Gaaah! Tell them I'm indisposed!

Pictured: Moderator, dunno which one.

Tell them yourself, they're right behind you.

Wait, don't run away!
We haven't gotten to what happens when they edit your thread title!

This concludes our sordid fictional tale.
If you liked that, we have plenty more in the book "Oh the horrible things you'll summon!" rumored to be written by IamnotaMod

It is sooooo important to appreciate our blessings! Apparently, there are some who don't appreciate. I'm very delighted to be among those who do appreciate!

Singing to the choir again, I see...my bad!

Oh, I don't mind ... I do the same thing, all the time. DP brought me some beets from a farm sale at his office yesterday. Dragons don't care for beet-greens! Baby was so annoyed that she went back to bed after lunch.

There's a salad in the current "Islands" magazine that seems to be made with beets and chopped greens. Maybe tomorrow I'll give it a try. (A recipe would have been nice ...). I put the greens in a vase to keep fresh.

“The Great Courses,” from The Teaching Company. I have lots. My first one was “History of Ancient Egypt,” 24 hours, and I’ve listened to it at least three times. I have a lot of classical history - Greece and Rome - and literature studies. I just finished listening to “Integrated History of the Ancient Mediterranean” for the second time (18 hours).

I also have three sets on the Middle Ages (Early, High, and Late), Medieval England, one on Great Shakespearean Tragedies, American Colonies, World War I and II ... and I don’t remember whatall else. I just kind of reach blindly to my closet shelves when I don’t have a recorded book out of the library!

We’ve also bought several sets of science DVDs from them. They’re very popular among Science Olympiad parents.

The Movie Reviews

"A Haunted House" with Marlon Wayans, Nick Swardson, Alanna Ubach, David Koechner, Cedric the
Entertainer, Essence Atkins, Dave Sheridan, Liana Mendoza, Affion Crockett, Jamie Noel

2013, Rated R for really crude sexual & homosexual content, language, and some drug use, 86 minutes

Damon Wayans is at it again with this horror movie spoof of everything from The Exorcist to Blair Witch
to Paranormal Activity. Our hero (Wayans) decides to invite his long-time girlfriend (Atkins) to move in
with him, but he doesn't at first realize that she brings a demon in with her. When the ghost busters and
the exorcist fail, drastic measures must be taken. It is typically crude and rude, but it has its many funny
moments, and we laughed a lot at the silliness.   ★★★★

"The Last Stand" with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville, Rodrigo Santoro,
Jaimie Alexander, Luis Guzmán, Eduardo Noriega, Peter Stormare, Zach Gilford, Genesis Rodriguez

2013, Rated R for strong, bloody violence and language, 107 minutes

Former tough guy and LAPD police officer (Schwarzenegger) is the sheriff in a tiny border town in
Arizona. The nastiest of the drug lords escapes from the FBI (Whitaker & Co.) in a series of very
expensive and elaborate ruses and killings, and he heads for Aahnold's sleepy town as his means of
egress to escape into Mexico. But the town and its sheriff are not so sleepy as they seem. It was
intricate and bloody, but very interesting. Arnold really did a good job, as did all the others, even a
short, uncredited bit by Harry Dean Stanton.   ★★★★

That is they, the very beetroots! Any suggestions on something interesting to do with them? I had a nice crop of them in Tulsa, just ready to harvest when we moved! I told the neighbors about them, so they wouldn’t go to waste.

Maybe I’ll plant some later in the summer, in the current pea garden, so I can eat them in the fall. The pea patch also has a “volunteer” raspberry bush and a large sunflower plant.

My mother always just boiled them and pickeled them or served them hot with butter. I like them the latter way. The green are good when cooked with bacon. Fry the bacon to where it’s crisp, crumble it (or slice it before you fry it) and add it to the water when you boil the greens. Make sure the greens have been washed several times. Nothing spoils the flavor like a little grit in your teeth.
