What Happened When The Mods Pulled My Post?
About a quart of Gin ^ | April 9 2013 | A Demented Mind

I just spent alot of time posting!

I see that, looks like you hit a small bump.

Pictured: Small Bump

What happened?
Well, someone set up us the bomb?
I'm serious!
Oh, well.. looks like your post got pulled.

Augh! I spent alot of effort on that! How did it happen?!
Couldn't be because you were doing it wrong?
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

What the, how'd you get that video of m-- uh.. I don't even wear that!
Right Skippy. *cough* Well, since you asked, here's how posts get removed.
First, if it is against TOS it gets seen.

Then it gets marked.

Okay, I have that much.
Then the mods gather:

Pictured, mods gathering.

I don't think that's how it looks, I..
Look, do you want an answer or not?
...Yes?
Right, carrying on.
Then they back their vehicle up to your post.

Whoah! What the heck is that thing?!
It's a machine, that eats other machines.
With this:

I don't see what this has to do with my post vanishing, can you tell me wha-
Watch it question boy! I have a flamethrower!

You want to vanish like your dog did?

What the?! No, not Roozer too!
To be fair, your dog WAS drunk.
What?! Who would even... please don't point that flamethrower at me.
Right, and after they saw your post off the entire forum, they set it on fire.

Wait.. that man. His face, and fire! Oh GOD WHY?!
Oh, HIS post was all about his face, so the mods set it on fire.
After that, they used the ashes to open a gate between our world and theirs, like this:

BLECH! That's horrible!
And those tentacles! GAAAH!

If you think that's bad, you should see what happens when the mods get their hands on a bad thread.

Pictured: Mod hands

Oh look, here comes a mod now.
Looks like they want to ask you about that thread you just posted.

Gaaah! Tell them I'm indisposed!

Pictured: Moderator, dunno which one.

Tell them yourself, they're right behind you.

Wait, don't run away!
We haven't gotten to what happens when they edit your thread title!

This concludes our sordid fictional tale.
If you liked that, we have plenty more in the book "Oh the horrible things you'll summon!" rumored to be written by IamnotaMod

Who says cats can’t smile?

I took Elen for a successful hour of driving. We stopped at a garage sale and got a cat carrier. We used to have two, but were down to one. I had to borrow a second one when I forgot what I was doing and made both catz’ vet appointment at the same time.

$4 for the carrier, some extra cat litter, a baby t-shirt, and a colorful stuffed caterpillar.

Cats have no smile muscles. They also can’t taste sugar. Which may explain why they can’t smile! LOL!

I have so little cash to carry that I seldom ever go to yard sales, though I dearly love them! I suspect I will never go to another without thinking of the Late Ann. She LOVED yard sales!

$4 for a cat carrier is good! And good for Elen and her hour of driving. Is she more confident, now that she has her permit?

(Tell Jamie I’m in dire need of a trim!)

Elen said I was more nervous than she was, and I’m sure that’s true!

I need a trim as well. Sigh.

Mothers are nervous with juvenile drivers because of their own years of experience. And this is NOT the first time you have experienced a juvenile driver! You will either be a basket case with Kathleen, or you will be so laid back you can sleep in the passenger seat! LOL!

Elen’s my 4th driver-trainee. I will live through it if she does!

"I have to take care of me because there is no one else around to do it!"

I have to take care of my wife "until death do we part".

Then it'll be her turn.

I took care of Igor until just before his death. There is no caretaker like that for me, so I will do double duty. And pray that my mind and body are strong enough to thwart the scam artists that proliferate in the Vegas Valley.

You’re pretty darn smart, Bob!

I rarely stop at yard sales, because we have so much stuff already, but I noticed the cat carrier when I was running earlier in the day, and thought it was worth driving by with Elen, since the car was already pointed that direction.

The good thing about yard sales, as the Late Ann said, was that there is always an occasion to give something you like, have bought, and don’t need!

Having such a large family and such a limited income, she haunted yard sales, bought things that she liked but had no need for at the moment, but when the occasion came, she had the Perfect Gift!

(She, too, had 10 children, but her husband was lazy and expected a living to be granted to him by virtue of his existence.)

I’m continually impressed with the Late Ann.

I’ve been collecting winter clothes from the byos’ room, washing them, and putting them in a box. Each layer reveals another layer ... and we never reach the carpet!

I found some things in the box that were outgrown; they’re in a pile for The Salvation Army or the first organization who calls with a pickup date.

The Movie Reviews

"The Impossible" with Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor, Tom Holland, Samuel Joslin,
Oaklee Pendergast, Marta Etura, Sonke Mohring

2012, Rated PG-13, 114 minutes

This story is about a single family that was in Thailand in the path of the massive tsunami
in 2004. The family was in the hotel swimming pool when the tidal wave struck, and the
mother (Watts) and eldest son (Holland) are able to stay together, but Watts is very
badly injured. Natives take her to a hospital with Holland. Meantime, dad (McGregor)
and his two younger sons are presumed dead by Watts and Holland, but no one really
knows where anybody is in all the chaos. The things I don't like about movies like this
are the maudlin, tearjerker scenes, and the over-hyped "ships passing in the night"
scenes where two characters, who are looking for each other, just fail to see the other
person. This one has plenty of those kinds of contrived extra bathos. We took a star off
for that.   ★★★

"Sacrifice" with You Ge, Xueqi Wang, Fengyi Zhang, Xiaoming Huang, Bingbing Fan,
Hai-Qing, William Wang, Wenzhuo Zhao

2010, Rated R for violence, 130 minutes

The ruling Dynasty in a province of ancient China is assassinated by a power-hungry
general. Vowing to kill every last one of his enemies, he searches for the newborn son of
the last prince in order to kill him as well. Hidden at a doctor's house, where there is also
the doctor's newborn son, the boy gets snatched from the wife's arms and placed in
custody as are all the newborn males in the town. She hides in a powerful magistrate's
house with her own child, but the general's soldiers break in and kill her and her child.
That leaves the doctor to claim the princeling as his own or face execution. But when the
boy matures, his face is not that of his supposed parents, but rather that of his deceased
ones. This is a large, grand, busy epic picture that is exciting and enjoyable. We gave it
  ★★★★
