What Happened When The Mods Pulled My Post?
About a quart of Gin ^ | April 9 2013 | A Demented Mind

I just spent alot of time posting!

I see that, looks like you hit a small bump.

Pictured: Small Bump

What happened?
Well, someone set up us the bomb?
I'm serious!
Oh, well.. looks like your post got pulled.

Augh! I spent alot of effort on that! How did it happen?!
Couldn't be because you were doing it wrong?
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

What the, how'd you get that video of m-- uh.. I don't even wear that!
Right Skippy. *cough* Well, since you asked, here's how posts get removed.
First, if it is against TOS it gets seen.

Then it gets marked.

Okay, I have that much.
Then the mods gather:

Pictured, mods gathering.

I don't think that's how it looks, I..
Look, do you want an answer or not?
...Yes?
Right, carrying on.
Then they back their vehicle up to your post.

Whoah! What the heck is that thing?!
It's a machine, that eats other machines.
With this:

I don't see what this has to do with my post vanishing, can you tell me wha-
Watch it question boy! I have a flamethrower!

You want to vanish like your dog did?

What the?! No, not Roozer too!
To be fair, your dog WAS drunk.
What?! Who would even... please don't point that flamethrower at me.
Right, and after they saw your post off the entire forum, they set it on fire.

Wait.. that man. His face, and fire! Oh GOD WHY?!
Oh, HIS post was all about his face, so the mods set it on fire.
After that, they used the ashes to open a gate between our world and theirs, like this:

BLECH! That's horrible!
And those tentacles! GAAAH!

If you think that's bad, you should see what happens when the mods get their hands on a bad thread.

Pictured: Mod hands

Oh look, here comes a mod now.
Looks like they want to ask you about that thread you just posted.

Gaaah! Tell them I'm indisposed!

Pictured: Moderator, dunno which one.

Tell them yourself, they're right behind you.

Wait, don't run away!
We haven't gotten to what happens when they edit your thread title!

This concludes our sordid fictional tale.
If you liked that, we have plenty more in the book "Oh the horrible things you'll summon!" rumored to be written by IamnotaMod

There wouldn’t be time for Elen to drive this evening, or I’d have said he couldn’t go out unless someone else came to get him. DP and I will have to hold a conference regarding Prioritizing the Car, and then present it to the drivers-and-trainee, or I’ll have them all griping at me constantly. Well, I probably will anyway, but it will be less stressful if I have a document at hand.

Have one divide out a set of three schedules and the other two get first and second pick on who gets which schedule!

These are very good principles. Would that everyone ascribe to them.

My son's comment on my presentation of the meta-rules was something about none of them involved actually getting where you were going.

Yep.

That’s a good idea in theory, but it’s more complicated.

He goes wherever he goes.

He just (mostly) doesn’t hit anything, etc.

It’s a much easier algorithm with only two children...

Not, really. IF one has two children and one has a “rebellious spirit,” two can seem like 42 on long days, or longer weeks.

I’m surprised my mother survived our childhoods. (Seven of us, two of whom were old enough to be my parents when I was born.)

I had an only child, but I adopted a “rebellious spirit,” and then the fun began. ;o]

This is even more like poetry. Something lighthearted for the UT gnag on a Friday. Enjoy!

The Movie Reviews

"The Details" with Tobey Maguire, Elizabeth Banks, Laura Linney, Ray Liotta, Kerry
Washington, Dennis Haysbert, Christopher Curry, Gary Schwartz, José Gandara, Miles
Ellenwood

2011, Rated R for language, sex, drugs, and violence, 91 minutes

This is a very uncomfortable movie full of people who do stupid things that cause their
lives to go downhill. A doctor (Maguire), who cheats on his wife, gives a kidney to a
friend who would have died without it. But his motives are very questionable. He kills
his crazy neighbor's (Linney) cat by accident trying to exterminate raccoons that destroy
his newly-laid sod each night. Things go downhill from there. I hated it, but Bryan said
to give it a pity   ★★★

"Dragon (Wu Xia)" with Donnie Yen, Kara Hui, Wu Jiang, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Yu Kang,
Xiao Ran Li, Wei Tang, Kenji Tanigaki, Yu Wang, Hua Yan

2011, Rated R for violence, 116 minutes

A simple paper maker (Yen) in a small town in China in the early 20th Century sees his
boss and the shop getting robbed by two violent wanted criminals. His "simple" pretense
vanishes when he dispatches the two men with his bare hands. An investigator arrives
from the governor's office, and he works very hard to call Yen's self-defense murder. But
as Yen's past is explored, we find he is so much more than just a paper maker. Except
for the mayhem, this movie was beautifully presented, and the story is intriguing, full of
little twists and turns as Yen's story unfolds like a blooming rose. It was great and we
both agreed that it was   ★★★★
