What Happened When The Mods Pulled My Post?
About a quart of Gin ^ | April 9 2013 | A Demented Mind

I just spent alot of time posting!

I see that, looks like you hit a small bump.

Pictured: Small Bump

What happened?
Well, someone set up us the bomb?
I'm serious!
Oh, well.. looks like your post got pulled.

Augh! I spent alot of effort on that! How did it happen?!
Couldn't be because you were doing it wrong?
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

What the, how'd you get that video of m-- uh.. I don't even wear that!
Right Skippy. *cough* Well, since you asked, here's how posts get removed.
First, if it is against TOS it gets seen.

Then it gets marked.

Okay, I have that much.
Then the mods gather:

Pictured, mods gathering.

I don't think that's how it looks, I..
Look, do you want an answer or not?
...Yes?
Right, carrying on.
Then they back their vehicle up to your post.

Whoah! What the heck is that thing?!
It's a machine, that eats other machines.
With this:

I don't see what this has to do with my post vanishing, can you tell me wha-
Watch it question boy! I have a flamethrower!

You want to vanish like your dog did?

What the?! No, not Roozer too!
To be fair, your dog WAS drunk.
What?! Who would even... please don't point that flamethrower at me.
Right, and after they saw your post off the entire forum, they set it on fire.

Wait.. that man. His face, and fire! Oh GOD WHY?!
Oh, HIS post was all about his face, so the mods set it on fire.
After that, they used the ashes to open a gate between our world and theirs, like this:

BLECH! That's horrible!
And those tentacles! GAAAH!

If you think that's bad, you should see what happens when the mods get their hands on a bad thread.

Pictured: Mod hands

Oh look, here comes a mod now.
Looks like they want to ask you about that thread you just posted.

Gaaah! Tell them I'm indisposed!

Pictured: Moderator, dunno which one.

Tell them yourself, they're right behind you.

Wait, don't run away!
We haven't gotten to what happens when they edit your thread title!

This concludes our sordid fictional tale.
If you liked that, we have plenty more in the book "Oh the horrible things you'll summon!" rumored to be written by IamnotaMod

Thanks. It seems like it would be safer to keep around than Amdro.

Some of the coolest things (from my POV):

1) The angel who probably was Jesus when Abraham was arguing with God over the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

2) Emphasis on David’s close relationship with Uriah the Hittite before having him killed. (It’s in the Bible, but kind of buried.)

3) Jesus in the fiery furnace.

4) The clear tension between the Romans and the Jews in the 1st century and the delicate job Caiaphas had keeping them both at bay.

5) Real unleavened bread at The Last Supper.

6) The rushing wind at Pentecost.

The most annoying nits:

1) Reading Hebrew left-to-right.

2) A Hispanic Jesus.

3) A Black Samson.

4) Mary going back to live on her own instead of with John.

Looking at the list, the nits really don’t matter, do they.

I misssed Mother’s Day by 2 hours and 32 minutes.

I will have to wait for birthday money to buy the set, if my son doesn’t send it. (I still miss my job...)

At my age and circumstances, all holidays are pretty much the same. Only the decorations are different.

Well, as with the good people of Katroo, I like to spend at least one day celebrating the fact that You are You. That special day is different from the rest, AFAIC.

Two ships [passing] in the night?

Out on the ocean, pre-RADAR, if it weren’t for the running lights, you would never know another ship is “out there.”

Nowadays, it’s just a phrase to denote almost meeting up with someone, but for the passage of circumstances...you were here, as was I, but not at the same time.

That makes sense.

You left out “passing in” in your first post. Just being like two ships in the night was a little confusing.

My birthday is often on labor day. But My mom got to miss going into labor on labor day. I was born on Friday that year.

LOL!

I was a bit taken aback by the Black Samson, but then I asked me: But what do I know? He COULD have been, so I will shut my mouth! LOL!

Jesus in the Hispanic community is a lot like Mohammed in the Muslim community. Common names, usually having no similarities to the person they were named after. Or, in the case of Muslims, too many similarities. Neither is a name I would choose for any child, ever, in the entire world...

*shudder*

The phrase is so common here in the west that “passing” is usually understood. I’m sorry for the confusion. It’s one of those days, I guess...

Unlike my mother, who was in labor on Mother’s Day. She said she would have had me on the railroad tracks when the truck stalled, but I was polite and waited until she was in a clean place.

I also was the only child out of seven who came on the exact day the doctor predicted. Another trait I have...punctuality...as well as politeness..;o]

In this continuum you focus on ships passing because ships on the sea are the most lonely things you can think of.

In the continuum I was raised in the phrase was “like two thoughts passing in a liberal’s head.”

LOL!

Well, back when I was growing up, Liberals were from France. Americans were Conservatives, no matter what their party affiliation. But that was then...

Of course, two exits later, the freeway was dry...

You have freeways out there?

In the Land of Emperor Cuomo there ANFL*, we have THRUways, so named because after you traverse it the cost of the toll guarantees your bank account is thru...

Don't forget the Parkways we have here, so named because there are no shoulders and some idiot is guaranteed to wipeout causing all traffic to spontaneously park thereafter.

No toll roads. FREEways...your tax dollars hard at work.

In fact, I had never heard of a Tollroad until I headed East for the first time in 1969. WHAT??? I have to PAY to drive???

No thanks. I’ll pay highway taxes, but not toll fees.

I recall an incident when someone got on the Thruway and, after about 4 hours, got off at the next exit. Apparently the Thruway was impassible due to large amounts globull warming which were falling at the time. The driver handed the attendant his ticket and his card and said, “I’m a lawyer and I’m not paying as I did not get proper value for my money. You should have a sign posted with the road conditions so I could make a valid decision before paying to use the road. I’ll challenge any attempt to collect the toll in court.”

He lost. The court decided that a state collecting a toll was not considered a statement of fitness of the road for any purpose whatsoever.

The horror..the horror..the things I've seen...guuuh.

Had two motorcyclists doing 80+ on the Palisades Parkway near rearend me on Sunday.
Of course they were riding rice rockets through 55 mile an hour traffic and trying to sandwich themselves between hyper aggro New York drivers.
Those are the guys that tick people off and become the 'stereotype' of motorcyclists.
The one cut between two vehicles as the trailing vehicle overtook the leading vehicle.
Yes, there was almost a 'squish' on that.
Meanwhile, the responsible motorcyclists and the drivers who are conscientious of them look on in horror at the scene unfolding and wonder when the inevitable crunching will begin.
After that it was the usual car-tards doing dumb things like passing on the nonexistant shoulder or pulling into the ramp merge lane to pass people.

That’s also why they unleash teh hordes of giant gophers on our roads so that said conditions are always deplorable.
The potholes are a mixture of ‘annoyance’ to ‘tank disabling obstruction’ that the state refuses to repair as that would cost money that would be better served in election coffers and union rep salaries... /sarc

Don't forget the Parkways

Don't forget the propensity to miss name roadways.

Take for instance the LIE, or Long Island Expressway for those not conversant in Cuomoland nomenclature. A marvelous structure of immense cost that starts at the Eastern mouth of the Midtown Tunnel and wanders into the wilds of Long Island. And twice a day transmogrifies into a 50 mile long parking lot...
