Omaha police displayed an unbridled street gang brazenness when they chased a man who was video recording them abusing his brother into a private home, confiscating his phone and arresting him to ensure their actions would never see the light of day.
However, another citizen captured the entire incident on video from a second-floor window, ensuring at least the façade of an internal investigation.

I also wonder whether they had dash cameras going at all. They ended up arresting all three brothers. The original reason the police were there was due to cars with expired tags. The mother and aunt of the boys said, “...we are not dealing drugs, we are not out shooting people....” along that line. The media is even complicit (GO FIGURE), because they released a list of the several misdemeanor charges in the past compiled against the three brothers. I really think this was a HUGE overstep by the OPD. I also hope it can be used against the mayor in his upcoming re-election (primary is Tuesday, 4/2).
When I look through some of the videos posted at that site all I see is my husband visiting grievous harm on some of those police officers. I really have to wonder how many times these thug cops make the mistake of picking on the wrong citizen? Can you imagine these thugs picking on a SEAL team that’s out for a night’s fun?
It’s hard to imagine that just such a thing hasn’t already happened a bunch of times.
Taking photos now has gotten to be hazardous. Not only from cops, but from security, copyright bloodhounds, paranoid people, DHS, government. I tried taking photos of downtown Dallas next to a federal building. Two guys came out with AK47’s or similar. I’m sick of the whole camera=terrorist thing.
Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer, who took over in August 2012, vowed to get to the bottom of this. (402) 444-5600.
The cops can do no wrong and if you haven’t done anything wrong why would you care if they entered your home without a warrant and confiscated your camera?
Are you trying to say that the 98% are making a bad name for the other 2%?
What’s funny is that there are cameras at red lights, security cams, cop dashcams, private insurance dashcams, but let one guy video a cop and all hell breaks loose.
This is impossible.
I’ve been assured that police departments are not jackbooted thugs.
See tagline.
That's true in Medford, OR. The police there were just the toughest gang in town, operating under the color of authority. They scared the bejeezus out of me.
We can’t have a couple of good cops giving a bad name to the other 98%. I guess in omaha they aren’t inflicted with any good cops to water down the average.
You are kinder than I. I hope the next one of these criminals that busts in a door take a round to the neck.
For beginners, because it is my home and my camera. If I wanted to get picky, I might add, because I can’t enter their homes and confinskate their cameras. I may even go as far to say that I paid for the camera and am paying on/renting the house. And in closing, it is only those whose desire is to be slaves that believe that everything the cops do is right.
I’ve seen more than one youtube video of cops being recorded when one of them yells “camera!” The same way you would hear them if they spotted someone holding a gun.
What are those clowns going to do when the next generation of cameras hit the marketthat are so small and cheap that they can be anywhere?
Gee, where was SWAT, the Marines, the Army, the Navy, the Air Force? The goons couldn’t handle one guy with the people on site. This is what our,”Police Force,” has become, little people with and over whelming sense of power and authority. DISCUSTING!
But cameras today are so cheap!
Anyways, I agree with you. I used to be Mr. Law and Order, but about 10 years ago I saw a group of police at a restaurant and they were cursing loudly, farting so everyone could hear them, basically acting like animals. No respect at all for anyone around them. Ever since then my respect for them just diminishes more and more, based on what I see.
This is exactly why “Shall Not Be Infringed” means we RETAIN the right to be, at minimum, as well armed as the forces government will use against us. Show me anywhere else in the BOR or the Constitution where the founders were so emphatic as to write “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED”. SNBI leaves no wiggle room for a law abiding government but that is long gone in this country.
Does anyone think, if this happened in NYS, that there would be only 7 officers or they would only have 7 bullets?
The left is pushing us right into the arms of law enforcement who will in conjunction with the media hide all their abuses of power.
A decade ago it might have been “one bad apple”, now the entire barrel is bad. ;)
Did the dog get away?
It is amusing how these guys like service ribbons and stars. Just ordinary guys who are big jokes otherwise.
